puncture how about add that when a normal vehicle like the ones the insurgents use and make it pretty unsteady when someone hits the wheels and maybe make the vechicle unusable. And remember the humwee stand comparison to a shoot from any gun beacause it has bullet-proof wheels i think!

umm.. great spelling..
As for the suggestion, I don't think location based damage is possible with the engine.

The bf2 engine is pretty good you have to admit. It has lighting effects on all things in the environment. It has some physics, and can look pretty beautiful somtimes.
Just not as open as others..... Blame Dice for not giving mods the source code, not the engine.

Actually, funny thing...if you knife the wheels on vehicles, atleast on those little thingies racing around the airport on Basrah, it actually sounds like you're hitting a rubber wheel.

When I was helping make the Extract movie with GreasyMonkey, we were doing a bit where the insurgents chase a hummer and fire at it with the 50 cals. Unfortunately one of the insurgents didn't miss as they were supposed to and one of the wheels of the hummer just retracted into the chassis like it does when the APCs are broke and the car wouldn't move.
There is definitely vehicle system damage in 0.5, I have seen it myself, although I think it happens when the vehicle takes high damage rather than when it is hit in the specific subsystem.

I think DICE was too ashamed to open up BF2 more. I mean, look at their menu system. It's like it was coded by a bunch of monkeys. How the hell do you make a game where you have to wait for a menu to pop up...

exactly.
daranz, couldn't agree more. How is it possible to make it so that everytime you open the meny you have to wait like 2 seconds? Even games released 10 years ago had better menus.

The menus/frontend are done in flash... so lame.

Well, I'm no EAxpert, but they put out BF1942, let it sit, put put BF:Vietnam, saw how popular the DC mod for 42 was, decided they needed money from that and made BF2, then put out BF2142 which was from what I heard based off a mod that was supposed to have been for BF2 but never came to fruitation.
1942: 2002
BFV: 2004
BF2: 2005
BF2142: 2006
Not to mention the Xpacks...EA is definatly quantity not quality based.

Well I really did like their special forces expansion pack, but the Euro Forces one was just too much. Nice maps, but really not fun.
