Shell Holes

When someone calls in Artillery, (obviously manned by the Royal Artillery)
would it be possible for a certain amount of shell holes to appear in the ground, where the shells have hit

Do you mean that you want terrain deformation? The engine does not allow it.
If thats not what you mean, please explain.

He could mean a scortch sort of thing appearing on the ground, when the arty round hits it. That'd be nice

A actual HOLE cant be done in the mod, but a large scorch or something could.

There IS already a scorch mark where explosives hit, it's just not big.

I can see the bugs now, take a direct hit and the static spawns on top of you and works like a shield lol.

Cant make a crater, in the bf2 engine, you cant tweak the terrain in the middle of playing in a map. I dont know if there could be stuff like black spots appear after explosion. Just as you see bullets hiit the wall could have an effect for shells hitting the ground. On top of rooftops and streets would be cool.

maybe not a full hole but wouldn't it be possible to make like a 2D sprite of a hole? kinda like how the grass looks

But a 3d static that look like a crater could spawn, but it would look weird on roof and trees because the crater could be bigger than the house/tree...

First I don’t know anything about modding. Second is the point of the hole to make an obstacle for people if so would spawning a object in on the spot of the artillery hit that was a solid object in the form of a piece of land with a hole and also would it be possible to make only some of the object to have collision so it would fit into any spot on the map?

i saw some screens of something like this of a tester testing out the thing fro ma tank explosion, it was quite ugly.
