A way to "Paint" targets for now.

Ok, this is just an idea, and I did search for it. Couldn't find or remember anyone suggesting this method.
Anyway, this isn't a way to spot anything for a plane to drop a bomb on or strafe, just a way to make attacking tanks, APC, and other vehicles better. It would also help with like the insurgents on Al Basrah getting their vehicles raped constantly because the A-10 sees a little box and can fly either super far out or super low to kill a T-62, technical, whatever.
Ok, well, what i see is that you could make the duration of spots on vehicles last twice as long, due to the fact that they would be easier to "spot" I'd imagine. And, make the A-10/Cobra/All other attack aircraft that have the boxes, only get the box around a spotted vehicle. I don't know if this is possible but i think it would help a lot, and it would also allow for the use of tanks for actual ambush on Al Basrah. Instead of getting ganked from a mile out by an A-10 than can kill you in a covered alleyway.

Yeah, the tanks are useless on Al Basrah for INS. I know IRL they would get compltely destroyed to if they ever got ahold of any, but not within the first 2 minutes of an engagement. Actually, 2 minutes is a long time in battle, but still, you get the idea.

when i saw Paint targets, I thought you meant for air vehicles. the way I thought it could work is with another view. If a squad leader "paints" a target, the pilot can switch to the view of it to see it. This would act very much like the POE arty system where you can see a "painted" area of arty.
Just a thought.
Keep up the great work devs!

When there is an enemy in the tank the planes see it on their HUD.

I must argue that in Basrah, the INS tanks are pretty amazing when used properly. The key thing is that they have a totally different strategy vs. the M1A1 drivers. When I tank, I can usually take out a tank, and a couple of APCs and then a BH and a Cobra and maybe A10 if I'm having a good round.
- The tactics are - stay in the city. INS tanks in the open are fresh meat to the USMC pilots as they are wayy to easy to spot, and A10s can see them get locked on. Put yourself in between buildings so it makes it very difficult for pilots to see you with a fly-by.
- Pick ambush areas. A defensive/hiding position looking at an intersection is usually a good spot since chances are, a newbie APC or Tank or Humvee will come strolling down not knowing that you have your guns at the ready.
- Tell your coaxial MG to stop firing unless he/she sees infantry. MG tracers are a dead giveaway for Cobras.
- Be picky with what gun to fire (while main gunner). MGs give off huge amounts of tracing that points back to your location. Sometimes, wasting a HEAT round on a couple of infantry is worth it just to keep yourself safe.
- ALWAYS do a 360 scan.
- Wear headphones - you'll be amazed at what you can hear, specially if you're tanking alone and the engine is shut off when you are working the main gun.
- If you must venture off into open ground, use the terrain knolls and bumps and dips to your advantage so only your turret can be seen through a horizontal line of sight.
- When you are hit (even just once) and you know it was an AT/Tank round that got you - retreat. Fight while retreating. Go back to a spot where you are surrounded by loads of blue dots on the minimap. They are your friends.
- Do not MG cobras while they are facing you. Be patient, they will eventually hover and get greedy.
- Over all, if you ask me, the INS tanks are some of the best AA around. May not be the most realistic, but I'm talking in terms of Project Reality/BF2.

But still, as i pointed out, you can get taking out in insane ways because unlike in real life the pilot doesn't even need to see you, you have a pretty little box painted around you even if you on the far corner of his screen.
Also, something i forgot to point out. PLEASE DO NOT allow the nose cam. Even in the planes. It should have a limited view.

I agree with this. The only flyer that should be allowed a 'nosecam' is the helo gunner.
