Does the damage need to be increased? I've had several thrown at me, but I think I have escaped them all relatively unharmed...
I don't recall ever actually confirming a kill using one of these either...
Do we need to make these more lethal?

You don't get a kill using these IIRC, they burn to death and counts as a terrain-based death (suicide i believe). While they might not seem very useful in open terrain, closed buildings and rooftops are especially useful in terms of not just damage but an intimidation factor. I recall in one of our fuck-around tests that duckhunt jumped off a building when we put 2 molotovs up there, to his death.

They're also good for finishing off disabled tanks and APCs.

Oh, and they probably shouldn't be able to blow up APCs and Tanks either.

why not ? a APC burning inside could explode more likely than one that "falls" into water, as they do in BF

I've never died from one and as the USMC, I have no fear of them. But as an insurgent, I think I'm a badass for throwing them and get excited whenever I lob one at a soldier.
It's weird.

I storm/shoot through them normally.

I only found them good for denying an area to the enemy. For example, when there's a guy who keeps firing at me from behind a corner, I toss a molotov at the corner, and effectively make it impossible for him to shoot from his previous position. It isn't easy to kill people with the things, though, as they'd have to stand still and cooperate, waiting to get cooked.

Molotovs are great for ambushing convoys. Blow the lead vehicle up, and the rear vehicle. Then throw them at lightly armoured vehicles. The crew just shit themselves and run away, abandoning the vehicles. Then they meet a wall of death

yea i know what you mean. would be really cool if, upon direct (or near direct) impact, the guy actually caught on fire and/or 'bled' out fast. hard to code i'm sure.
I just think they are not very effective, if someone can charge forward through them without fear.

I was hoping this thread was going to have news that the model was added. So very sad....

I think they need to be more powerful, I'm hit soldiers dead on with them just to see them run out of the flame and start shooting.
They should also be pretty nasty to light vehicles, they were used to great effect as anti-tank weapons in WW2 on the eastern front with a good hit to the engine deck. I imagine it wouldn't do much to modern armor but humvees would be a different story.

Molotovs are awesome. Great room clearers and building denial weapons as well as impromptu anti matieral weapons.

Try throwing it at a stationary tank, you'll see what happens

Never actually done it -- please tell me it doesn't one hit kill a tank!

It's very hard to hit the target as they are now. It's odd that they blow up mid-air making an accurate shot a miss.
Yes they are good for room clearing, but can something be done to prevent them from blowing up in the air?
Yes they do damage...err destroy vehicles with a good hit

Yes they do.
A few seconds and the vehicle burning and explode.
But for a unkown reason only when the vehicle is more than 430m away from the mainflag

I remember having only 3 guys with me one day as Insurgents, I had a US kit of some sort that i picked up cus i ran out of AK ammo. And i had a Policeman and a RPG Gunner. We had a tank move in near us. The RPG Gunner shot the first round and the tank ignored. The second round hit the side and tracked the tank. The tank then decided to start shooting at the RPG Gunner. And here comes the cool part (God, I wish i had a fraps of this). You see a Insurgent run up behind the tank, jump on it, get to the hatch, waste the gunner with his AK-47 and then drop a Molotov in the hatch and jump off. The Molotov exploded and tank blew up. So, yes, very effective when used right.
Also, try lobbing one into a blackhawk as it drops off troops. That's always fun.
