Clearly you aren't great at geography but nearly the entire northern portion of the Gulf of Oman is on Iranian shores.

Helmand Province is slightly based off it, was mainly based off a small village some where in afganistan.

Airport I'm pretty sure was not based off any r/l airport excatly. SPfreak never seems to make his maps based on real places, they are just made up on refrences pics hes found about and ideas hes got in his head.

Assault on Mestia, correct, hence the name

Hills of Hamgyong, correct again, Nikovk made it cos his grandad I think fort in that battle, not sure?

Al Basrah, its acturlyed based on the region around Basrah, hence the "Al" infront of it and why you have lots of desert and not just city

Al Fallujah Region, infact this map was not based off of this place, nor dose it really resemble much atall to the fighting thats happening at the mo here. was a made up area and was going to be called "sand storm" or something untill terror found out anouther map was called that...

EJOD Desert, this map is not based off anywhere im 80% sure.

Gulf of Oman WAC, ehh ye correct, EA made it

also a big one you forgot about was infact Muttrah City, based off Muttrah (aka, muscat thou muttrah is the haubor area name):

Actually not correct. Thomazz was looking for a briefing for his new map EJOD desert so I made the briefing for him. Umm Qasr is a name I made out of combining two random Iraqi village names, Umm something and something Qasr. EJOD was the name of one of the tournament teams in C2. So, no basis but Thomazz might have looked at some unknown cities for inspiration.

Actually it looks like EA may have made Oman a little off from where it is supposed to be.

Here is the location based off the map... a long time ago someone on a forum threw this up so i saved it




The problem is that this puts the "gulf of Oman" on the other side of India near Bangladesh as far as it looks to me.

The actual location of Oman is the other side of India

Google map it and put it on satellite view. As you can see it is on the left side of India while the map EA made is on the right side.

that's soooo out of proportion but it's still cool.

Going by the coordinates found at the bottom of that map, the picture is of this area. Looks like a Greek island (also, the image was photoshopped, and the lakes were added. You can see that the original shoreline is still there, though.

ye LOL! looks like the news poster just took that island, photoshoped it a load and called it a place in oman

i was thinking when looking at that pic above it looked far too green for oman and the spit didnt look very natrual.

This is a reality mod, so it would stand to reason that our maps are based on reality... surely that isn't surprising?
