Instead of lockout

im not sure if this can be physicly implemented, but i came up with the idea after reading Pallys lockout post. anyway, i dont think locking the enemy out of vehicals is a great idea on the count of it kind of ruins gameplay, but how about since the game recogizes enemy from friend, if there were some sort of timeing when a enemy enterd a vehical.
my main idea is a Hotwire time set. since not all cars have the keys in the sun visor like in Terminator 2, a enemy should have to hotwire the vehical, doing so you could add like a pair of pliars to the weapons list, and like using the wrench, have only so much hotwire ability, then it slowly recharges it self.
also by having the pliars you could maybe defuse C4 that the enemy plants if you find it. i know it kind of creates a CSS'y feel, but think of the possebilitys
also, if you first dont get my post, re-read it and try to put pictures in your head to co-inside with the ideas.

Sounds like a good idea, if it can be done.

by doing this you could keep people from quickly jumping in and grabbing the machine gun and going wild with it, but still have it as a usefull item. things like tanks could take significly longer than like a hummer

Thats a good idea, but i think it should be limited to certain vehicles, like maybe jeeps and buggys, mainly because i doubt your average grunt is going to know how to hotwire a plane or copter, or even a tank for that matter

maybe so, but i'll let the almighty pally decide

dumbest idea ever!
It's interesting. Maybe something to look at in the future.

I think it's a pretty interesting idea. But does the average soldier even know how to hotwire a jeep? But if hotwiring IS implemented then I suggest it only works on jeeps and other automobiles for transportation, not a jet for destruction.

i just wanna see it made so you can club someone with the wrench

yeah, and then if you remove the knife (so you use the wrench instead) you have another open weapons slot.

it would be more realistic if only the pilot class could enter the choppers and only a driver class could enter the tanks . that makes alot more sense then the hotwire function

i think spec ops should ba able to and the enginer should be able to "hot wire". have a good reason to be spec ops more the the dumb c4

I agree with that, would love to have a seperate pilot class, and tanker class

going that far seems a little much, i can understand a pilot class, but a tanker class seems more irrelevent than neccisary. i know my idea is a little odd and misplaced, and it certainly dosnt tie in to some situations, but of course the idea can be tweaked around. i think myself that a pilot class could be understandable as ive delt with it alot in Forgotten Hope, and would stop alot of the whoreing that happens, but this is about lockouts here, and from my perspective on some of the Server Side Mods that were going on in the days of DC, like Lost Village maps were the Iraqi's were restricted on flying the black hawks, it gave more of an upper edge to the americans, even though the iraqis won more than not thanks to crack shot RPGists and stinger kits.
just think, an iraqi comes up and shoots you down, and your team mates, runs over to the flag and captures it, and hes getting away but he first has to hot wire the local jeep, that gives you enough time to run back and see if you can get him, if not oh well, but if he had his own truck, you wouldent have stood a chance and lost the opportunity for points and getting your flag back.
yes the situation is a little unbalanced and unfair, but think of the possibilitys behind it, it would require more planning on the attackers point of bringing his own vehical or faceing having to use precious time to hotwire a vehical.
