Entering Helicopters

I'm sure this is something the developers have already taken into consideration but I thought I'd just make sure ;)

Anyway at the moment people seem to be able to just jump against the side of a helicopter and enter it pretty easily. Due to the way the engine works I'm not sure if its possible to adjust this anyway but It would be nice to see a system that makes this not possible.

Also I though it might be nice to revive the question of delays when entering certain parts of Tanks, APCs etc to the developers. What's the verdict on that so far?

You didn't state your suggestion, just the problem ;)
Engine limitations.

Boooooo!

Anyway the suggestion was just to give getting in helicopters the whole realism treatment and that... ;-)

Also while I'm asking questions of the developers regarding aircraft and stuff, are there specific PDWs been developed for the pilot and crewman classes? I think someone suggested it a while ago but I didn't see an answer.

I would love to see animations for entering and exiting tanks... Unfortunately, this is BF2, where everyone has personal short-range teleport devices that let them enter vehicles instantly.

Yeah I can imagine the whole thing is hardcoded.

Might not be hardcoded.

Are people forgetting it used to be the same with tanks and APC's.

You still teleport instantly inside of the vehicle. The spots from which you can teleport are restricted, though.

I thought this was regarding where the choppers were entered?

Someone mentioned delays when entering vehicles. That's what I was talking about.

Why can't you jump oto a helicopter?

Bond did it in Goldeneye, and the BH doors are massive.

Well I think you should be limited to entering at the doors, at the moment you can run and jump and enter through the floor.

Thats why James Bond is overpowered :p

Yeah get him "nerfed", is that the correct term?

Anyway yeah you have a point with the Tanks and APCs. gonna be a pain for the Commies and Middle Easteren boys because their gonna have to have some awesome pilots to make sure people can jump in the back while hovering. If it's gonna be realistic even the slimmest, lightest travelling soldier would have trouble getting past the 50s.

The whole thing needs fixing though cos it's proper stupid and It'll make extraction a whole lot more interesting having to stay alive until it's in the proper position to jump in.

I can imagine animations for entering tanks and stuff like that is hardcoded though.

I think the COD engine sucks ***, their maps are entirely to linear and there aren't even any air vehicles.

the bf2 engine could be better, much better, but it's not awful.

You can edit the enter points, just like PR did to the tanks

Yeah I'd hope so, to reiterate... Running at the side of a helicopters then teleporting inside?! Booo! :p
