Oh, Project Reality, how I love thee
Let us count the ways.
I love the way you encourage teamwork, by making it so easy to get killed if you don't move as part of a unit. I love the way everybody who has VOIP found their way to PR
I love the pace of the game. My biggest gripe with Vanilla was that it just moved too fast. But in PR EVERYBODY uses the iron sights. You can't NOT use them. Its so rewarding to see everyone taking the time to hit their targets. Since everybody takes more time to aim, the game naturally moves slower, which allows for actual planning of strategies, and not just "run over there, now run over here." Now you can hold your ground and know that it helps.
I love how there are actual fronts and battle lines. No more wack a mole gameplay. Now you know which ares of the maps are safe (most of the time) and where you know you'll encounter the enemy. Since the battle only takes place along one general area, your team is all together on one side, and on the other is the enemy.
I love how with the advent of rally points now people defend an area, instead of a flag. The flag simply becomes a measurement of how far the enemy has control of the environment. Everybody spawns away from the flag and keeps people from moving forward towards it. Since you don't spawn at the flag, you have to go to the flag to defend it. But you can only move up so much before you encounter resistance. If the enemy has already gotten to the flag then the battle line will be before you even get to the flag. In this sense, your fighting for territory. This way spawn camping has also been eliminated (unless they find your rally point, in which case the spawn camping doesn't last long - they will destroy the rally point eventually)
I love how I will FINALLY have a BF game where the draw distance is realistic once .6 comes out. I have always felt that I would much rather have lower poly counts and less fancy lighting in favor of a further away horizon. Now my dream is coming true!
I love all the weapons, the vehicles, etc, etc.
Can't wait 'till .6 comes out. Despite all the complaining Egg has done about .5, I think .5 was a work of genius. GENIUS I SAY!
