Availibility of Limited Kits

I was wondering if there was a way of knowing how many limited kits were free at a given instance.

Will it always be trial and error?

Also, will there ever be a way to keep the limited kit after you die and respawn? Or is this prevented for some reason? (can't imagine why)

I'm new to this mod, but it seems as though the limited kits are based on how many people are playing. I was on a server with only 3-5 people and the sniper kit was unavailable "until reinforcements arrive" so I am guessing its based on proportionality of total players.

That correct mate. If you scroll to the bottom of this page you can see how it's done..

I like deductive reasoning, over fully reading the manual =).

like 34 people it needs for sniper to be available.
not exactly sure though.

The figures are given in the link I posted above.

My questions are

1) Is there a way of knowing how many FREE kits (as opposed to total kits) there are at a given time?

and

2) Why not keep the limited kit after respawn?

It pretty much works like this:

-request sniper kit --> no chance you will ever get this
-you then try request marksman --> hahaha 5 guys before you tried this already
-now you actually pick a kit that might help your squad --> 50/50 chance you might get one

I know thats an overly technical explanation, my appologies

And no you don't keep your limited kit after you die.

Sure. If there was a way of seeing what kits were actually free then it would prevent all this messing about.

Say you could 'ask' you squad leader via the 'Rose' .... "Kit Availability?" and the free kits (and number of) were shown in the top left via the standard text. This would be very fluid and VERY useful.

edit: Forum mods - I appreciate this could now be valid in 'Ideas and Suggestions' but it didn't start as an idea.

Seirrah you're right it would be nice to know. There is a post in the suggestion forum already on this topic. There was actually a pic up for a nice simple solution when you pressed the request key. It showed 0/2 , 2/4 etc. beside each kit to indicate how many where currently issued.

To answer why you don't automaticly get the kit back is kinda like penalty of death. Here you are using a special limited kit and you die with it... then allow it to fall into enemy hands. Now NO ONE ON YOUR TEAM CAN HAVE IT UNTIL THE ENEMY WITH THAT KIT GOES DOWN. Hummm sounds bad to me. Also everytime some one dies with that kit it takes longer b4 you respawn and are alocated another kit. Read the manual to find out what the exacts are regarding this situation.

I do think that there should be away to see what kit(s) is/are availible.

Ah that's good. I hope you can do that when away from a rally/control point though.

perhaps it would be easiest if the kits that were avalible were the only ones that showed in the menu. for example you Hit "T" and anll it shows you is a support kit , and a AA kit. 5 mins latter, an AA kit and a Heavy AT kit and so on.

any how just a thought.

Well don't bother me with your questions ingame.

Know what RTFM stands for?

Oh, I read it. I just read over some things that didn't have a paragraph that explains what it is. Like the lists of limited kits. Kinda like skipping over a section in college text, because it didn't seem important to know.
