Apologies if any offense caused

Hi all,
In response to my earlier post
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/t20241 ... hairs.html
I would post this there but unfortunately it's been closed.
Wow, I wasn't expecting such a strong reaction, I apologize if I caused offence in some way - certainly not the intention
I still think it would be nice to have some kind of indication of how much 'spread' there is in your shot, but it's clearly not a popular idea. But that's fine, it's a minor issue.
I'm very impressed with the PR community, you're even willing to listen to the crazy ideas (like most of mine

) - it's a good sign.
Looking forward to what 0.6 holds

Don't worry, most people here only bark and don't bite.

True

It was one of the first things done in 0.1 so it'd be generally viewed as sacrilage by the majority of the community if eggman posted up a news post saying that crosshairs were making a comeback

And, well, I don't think that'll come soon...
'[R-DEV wrote:eggman']no, locked, not open for discussion.
Glad to see you are looking forward to 0.6

I have gotten so used to crosshairs that I can actually shoot without them...
In response to your apology, it think that took a lot of balls.. man to post in public rather than PM him. That shows other people your true personality.

The reason why I asked for how long have you played PR is that new players have trouble adjusting them selfs without crosshairs, since crosshairs can be found in almost any game.
Actually I don't find it a problem aiming without crosshairs, perhaps I've just played too many FPS

I guess my post might have been a bit unclear; it's not the aiming aspect of the crosshairs I miss it's the way they expand and contract to give you an indication of your spread. But as noted, this clearly isn't a popular idea

ehehe you might be right

That's fair enough, I didn't know whether it was a recent thing or well established.

Yeah, it sure does take balls to post something on a INTERNET MESSAGE BOARD.

Well instead of spreading crosshairs, you get a gun that moves and jumps around, and a view that moves and jumps around. Doesn't that suffice?

For your benefit: I bite.
Hehe on the no crosshairs idea btw

Aaaaaah, slightly cheered me up.

I know what you mean by the spread. But I think denying people the ability to shoot ultra-accurately from the hip is more important than giving them a clearer idea of their current accuracy.
If I understand correctly, PR has no "cone of fire", so your shots from the hip will always hit the dead center of your screen. Putting aside of course gun-specific deviation, recoil after the first shot, and bullet drop.

How would you do more than "bark" at someone through the internet?

Trace the IP and visit him at home.

If someone does that to me, I'm gonna buttrape them with a garden hose, turn on the water and watch them explode. Then I'll make a thread about it on the PR forums. So be warned.

Thread went off-topic, but now that everything is good and settled I think we can call this case closed.
