It's a useful feature on maps like Al Basrah, which have jets and choppers. This prevents having 6 people in an A-10 or Cobra squad, because 6 people in an A-10 squad when there's only two A-10s, is just silly.
Didn't think of making a 'nomic' squad, I'll do that in the future. Thanks for the suggestion.Mystiqq wrote:Interesting, some of these do make sense but some doesnt.
For instance, locking squad because you dont have mic is something that i dont understand. What if the next guy and the next uses the same logic. Theres zero harm leaving it open for someone to join, might be another one without a mic. Why not create "nomic" squad and leave it unlocked. You arent doing anyone a favor by locking the squad, at least none that i can see.
yeah, but the thing is, pilots arent really that fucking important unless its al basrah (which people kinda talk about like its the only map in pr, and kinda base all pr mechanics off of it), a pilot is much more helpful just being in a squad, supporting that squad when they need it, and the commander when he asks (a good commander will know how to use move commands/squad leader to direct just a helicopter).Pilots can use one man squads to more efficiently communicate with the commander, without tying down a bunch of other people if they're in a plane.
Well, the "new a10 guy", if he's smart, will ask for an invite into the a10 squad, or create a new one. Snipers and tanks usually do end up in unlocked a10 squads, I've seen those sort of squads exist for the duration of a game.Mystiqq wrote:Interesting, some of these do make sense but some doesnt.
This A10 squad will end up being one man squad in no time, which it probably is to begin with. Especially if its some pub server. I mean, if you happen to be in A10 and get killed and decides to go noobtubing for a change, then you obviously leave that squad and join the infantry guys, no? How about this new A10 guy, how is he suppose to "join" your A10 squad? Thats right, he makes another one or just stays on the squad he is right now (most probable). Sounds pretty silly to me.
Not once have i seen full squad and someone flying A10 as SL. Reason is quite obvious...
I have. This is a BF2 based game, don't expect logic from most of the population.Mystiqq wrote: Not once have i seen full squad and someone flying A10 as SL. Reason is quite obvious...
Snipers don't exactly want 20 retards with ADD spawning on them and shooting flares and smoke grenades up in the air to let everyone know where the sniper is.Not really sure how this has to do with one man locked squads. Spotters nor snipers dont need to lock their squads for "direct communication" with the comm.![]()
Last time I left a squad while wearing a crewman kit and in a vehicle, I got instantly killed. I always thought that would kill you. That was the only reason why I didn't leave the squad. Having a one-manned tank in the middle of the desert would be a *****.Since you managed to get the crewman kit, there must have been others still in the squad before you got the tank? Might have been good idea to make a new squad called "armor" or "tank"? Why did you stay in that squad in the first place? No one will join in a squad called "armor" or whatever and start demanding a rally point.
If you had made the squad after you got the tank and left the previous squad, there wouldnt be no one asking for anything. No one will join in a squad where you have SL in a tank and start demanding a rally point. If you do, kick him from the squad, point finger and laugh.
If anything, the only reason "you wasted their time" is because you didnt leave the squad when you got the tank. Its like commanding from airplanes, not very good idea. I advice that if you dont intend to lead the squad is to leave the squadleader position.
