I was on Inshall Forest today, and the PLA dropped their jeep. I as a US player managed to get into it, drive it around, and use the MG -- much to the confusion of the PLA team, which lost 7 men before they got me.

Are paradropped vehicles even realistic? I know they do it but during a heated battle I don't think so... Maybe PR should get rid of them?

I doubt that USMC drops boxes of 5.56 x 45 mm and AT4s on parachutes into the middle of a heated battle.

They are realistic as far as i know the special forces drop DPV or other buggies for quick insertion on ground. Thats why one of the chiense buggy's name is Paratrooper FAV (fast attack vehicle)

Ive seen a pic where the russians drop a T-72. It has about 100 different sized parachutes. Too bad i couldnt find the pic anywhere now cos its pretty funny.

There was a Chinese Army vehicle where they were dropping APCs and other vehicles like that.

Quick question, if the vehicle became occupied in mid air, would the parachute dissappear? If not, I might have a new hobbie.

Ha, imagine this, using the machine gun on the jeeps while the parachute is still on the vehicle and you're just gliding down slowly while raining bullets from the air on the enemy...

How would you get into a vehicle in midair?

A really good pilot.... grab yourself a pilot kit load up a helo, hover above vehicle drop...

Maybe stick a squad lead and just drop dead on failed attempts? lol.

Thats how id do it ( Im sure some nut did it in vanilla at one point! )

Oh yeah, definatly. If you look around you can find vids of people doing crazy stuff in vBF2 -- ejecting out of jets, falling with them, then getting back in and flying off.

I've done the "Get into vehicle in mid air" trick before -- it just keeps floating down.

Errmm, kinda....

There are two vehicles in that video that were dropped at altitude, and the video also shows the various hazards of doing so. None of this was in battle though.

Way off topic: During my service in the Swedish Army our officers told us that the Russians, during the experimental phase of airdropped regiments, filled the vehicles with privates and threw them out in the air. I remember hearing somewhere that the Russians have some calculated casualitypercent for each excercise (not confirmed though)
