Special kits once you hit number of Team points

I searched, if it was already put in, if it was just ignore,
From a thread in the General:

Going off topic, and I will toss it to suggestions too,

How about: Commander issues Pilot (and cannot issue himself one) but I see that causing issues with favoritism, OK as long as your buddy can fly.

Crew kits are freely available - since there is usually a need for more crew than pilots and the Commander would get spammed.

NO Limited kits until YOU hit a set limit of TEAMWORK points - perhaps even a set limit per kit - EX. 50 heavy AT, 100 Support, 200 Sniper etc.

EDIT: changed from team points to individual temwork points.

"A tank! Quick, Private Smith, run to the crate and grab a SRAW so we can take it out!"

"But, sir! I don't have 50 points yet!"

Seriously, kits are tools, not rewards.

Thanks for the suggestion, but we're not thinking of going back to the vBF2 formula of more points = more rewards. In fact, there's no reward system in PR.

That would also promote the "I want points" style of play rather than a team-oriented objective based style of play...even if it is by using "team points".

@arthuro12: Those types of players will be detrimental to their own team by doing nothing. There're admins around that, sometimes, kick those types of players. They're just occupying a server slot and not doing anything.

then get the light AT at a very low level - I think it is going limited in .6 anyway, also there's C4, IED for the amour.

they were saying theres a large influx of players who are tools who won't teamplay, ;) and in a way special kits are rewards. When you join the military in RL you just don't say - hey I wanna be a sniper - you have to earn/pass the requirements - can't do that in PR and the idea came from the (daily) thread about smacktards and lack of teamwork.

Good point :) sorry - could not resist... Different from vBF2 in that the reward is per round - not by playing time.
You are giving support classes more points for assists in .6 to encourage teamwork, I see from the change log.

No, as the teamscore doesnt show your skill with weapons.
A very good teamplayer can have a horrible aiming and would be a waste for the sniper/marksman kit.

Sorry guys let me fix that phrase - I meant indivdual Team work points not overall team points.

I haven't really had any trouble with the system how it is, i think we should keep it.

I like that Idea. I think you should have an CQMS implement, and issues the kit. Give it to those who can fly, I certainly cant fly well, so I dont bother. and have special section that has AA, AT, Sniper, Medic, and Rifleman.

Implementin Kit limiting, so in a Section of 6 men
Section Commander: Officer Kit
2IC: Marksman Kit (The one with the L86A2 (LSW))
1 xMedic,
1x Light AT
2x Riflemen

So if there is 4 FULL sections

replace a Light AT with the a support gunner so you can vary depending on the job.

When you join the military in real life, you get trained in using a weapon, and then they issue it to you, and you go out to battle with it. You don't have to patch up an injured guy, toss a couple of spare mags to a buddy and hoist a flag before you get issued the weapon you specialize in.

The way you want it would be detrimental to teamwork. A squad couldn't get a support gunner, DM (yes, they can work with squads) or a H-AT because he didn't have enough points yet. If someone is good with a weapon, he should be able to grab it at the beginning of the round, and contribute to the fight with the weapon he has.

Everyone's life shouldn't be more difficult because you want to stop a bunch of smacktards.

Ah, so the spec ops-lone wolf whore can PWN n0uBz3z and then go and lone wolf with the squad marksman kit?
