What's a handguard, and is this considered spam?

iirc its the part of the gun on the barrel on which you grab it with your hand.. ( always forget the names in english for gun parts)

One thing about the SA80, Will left handed people get the casings in their face when they shoot? (because of the bullpup structure)

Yes. Its a right-handed only weapon.

Unless you like burning hot cases hitting you smack bang in the face, that is.

Perhaps a bit off topic, but could a brit quickly inform me as to whether Britain is allowing women to do front line infantry fighting? Not trying to make this political, just curious for my own sake.

So you have to learn to shoot it with your right hand wether you like it or not?!

No, women are not allowed to fight at the front, for the safety of the men (lol!). Its just that if a woman was under fire/injured, human instinct tells males to protect her no matter what. Its common sense, really, to keep them off the front lines. There are Special Forces though, that do allow women to operate on the front.

As for the woman above who was killed, she was not killed on the front line, but by an IED.

Yes. It ain't that big a deal. I'm left-handed, but I still hit the targets most of the time with it.

To mdterp: Women cannot currently join Infantry regiments or the Parachute Regiments, but they can be involved in combat with any of the other regiments, usually the Engineer regiments, the Army Air Corps and the Royal Armoured Corps.

Do they make left-handed mice too? Id figure that would just be the case with PR (learning to shoot with the right hand for the right handed mouse.)

No, he is right. It's a new version of the SA80 handgaurd but it's not on every rifle.

As far as I'm aware, the British Army does not permit women to fight on the front line as such. They are in supportive roles, like Logistics, Intelligence etc etc.

Technically, no. However, we have Infantry trained females as support with us. For example, medics, drivers, etc. They wear our head dress, but are capbadged as RLC or RAMC and such like.

also there is no real front line in iraq so even tho they cant fight frontline , u could say the frontline is iraq.

but anywho , handguard dose look different but i would think summin like that would be extreamly low priority.
