Why dont you make the PR intaller to do a nice trick when you install it? After install is finished, it would say with BIIIG letters "Hay mate, plz watch soon starting video footage to help you survive in the teeth of pro PR player" and then a OK button witch can't be pressed before 10 secs or so have passed. After this some coool coool tutorial video starts rolling telling how to get kits etc etc, wouldn't this reduce the stress all PR players meet after new patches when all sort of noobs come asking how to do this and that?
Before you ask why not just text why a video. You need to think these new players as children, they dont bother read anything, but if it got pretty pictures, its worth checking out.

Or put the guide into the installer and have pictures with text play, while the mod installs...
Some games have that, you can watch some in-game footage, while you install...

or you could just make the mod self-uninstall as soon as you type in: "where is the suppy zone?"

"You have been detected as one of the following:
-noob
-smacktard
-teamkiller
You will be evicted from Project Reality and banned.
Have fun, as your PRM self-destructs along with your PC"

LOL
But one of those boxes that does not let you pass until you click accept.
A box that states " I agree to read the guide before entering a server ".
You click yes and the install continues.
Then when people cry that they don't know how to do things we can all yell at them because they legally agreed to read the F manual.
But in all reality, it's not that big of a deal to tell people how to get the kit.
Tactics and common sense can not be imparted via a training video and the lack of those
is far more galling than the occasional " why can't I fly " comment.

I would prefer one where if you say "where is my crosshairz" "where is my awpz" (To kick fishwork

) and "omg why cant I fly" it crashes to desktop and formats your hard-drive.

I have this one game called Act of War. And when you install it a video program forces itself open and begins to play, maybe there is a way to do that during the PR install? So people would be forecd to listen to the guide, or leave the room.

I would like to direct a PR Tutorial video that would go with the installer. Have had the idea before and know what to do to make it really neat and make it look cool. Maybe other than just the tutorial have tips, hints, etc. Like IED placement for the Insurgents, Squad tactics, Vehicle Tactics, etc.
Could make it kinda look like a trailer or movie for the tips part so it's not all boring.
I'd be up for it 100% if the Devs are interested.

Man fuck that, I'm all fucking for this. Forcing EVERYONE to watch a good 10 minute tutorial will save all the veterans HOURS of frustration. I think this idea is more important than anything anyone has ever suggested. Too many newbs running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Will it really kill you to wait one time for 10 minutes until you can begin enjoying the game? If you install and everything the tutorial is saying is already known to you just go to the kitchen and make some coco puffs then come back in a few minutes.

perfect.
I like this idea....put the people at fault, but there will still be something to complain about. Really, what would we do if we couldn't complain.

i didnt read the manual. its not that bad as long as theyre respectful. i would just politely ask "where do i get a pilot's kit?" and someone would tell me. no biggie. its when people are like "GOD DAMN WHERE DO I GET THE M95 LOL THIS GAME SUCKS" when its annoying.

Why not have a link at the end of the install that takes you to a tutorial video? That way, n00bs can easily access the video, vet's can ignore it, and a lot of DL time would be spared, as you wouldn't be ACTUALLY downloading the video, just a link to it...

A veteran would know how modify his shortcut link to avoid the videos.
