Driving Tips

I just started playing PR about 2 weeks ago, and I've really gotten into it, I don't see myself playing any other game for now, and for awhile.
Since i'm only 2 weeks in I'm still wet behind the ears and i'm trying to soak in as much as I can from the vets to become a better and more distinguished player.
After driving around a bit I realized that using the keyboard theres no-speed and full speed. This is difficult because sometimes squads use the vehicles as cover and you can't move the same speed as the guys on foot. This lead me to an idea thats really worked out. Use a Joystick to control the acceleration and turning of a vehicle. I pulled out my old left handed joystick and with a mouse in one hand and the joystick in the other i'm able to move the vehicle at the same pace as the squad giving them the full cover they need, as well as a steady slow speed for the vehicle gunner to have better accuracy without having to expose the vehicle to a whole bunch of guys.
I'm planning to become a full-time driver for any vehicles on the map to support squads. If anyone else has good driver tips such as placement, direction, what to do when fired at by RPGs, or how to spot RPGs, what to do when flanked. I'd imagine most of its common sense but i'm sure theres a few tricks out there. Most of the time when i'm faced against an RPG i GTFO (get the fuck out) and repair or try to come from a diffrent angle.
