Deathcam...

-So, I was watching the PRMM diaries on Youtube and I noticed that after having been killed the player used the deathcam to spot hostiles. Is there any way of removing this? Just considering the realism of "Yeah, I'm dead/bleeding to death but let me just go out of my body to spot the guy who shot me... There he is, behind the wall that would normally obstruct my view".

Also important is your "ghost" has the ability to follow all of your team mates as well by pressing "C".

think we are going to try again to remove the death cam for v0.7 (no prommises btw) and see how it goes from there. In the past thou we have had no luck...

I spot them almost everytime i die. ;-)

Perhaps the camera could follow your SL, so you can see if it is safe to spawn. I know this isn't realistic but I believe that appering in the middle of a fire fight isn't either, and you really don't want to die again and have to wait another 30 seconds to spawn. The majority of the time it will make little difference anyway as your SL should stay out of CQC, near the rear of the squad.
Why not just ask the SL, if it is safe to spawn on him?

Did you read Rhino's post?

They even had problems, as they tried just to remove the deathcam.
I guess, make it to follow the SL everytime you die, is a lot harder.
But I'm no modder, so maybe my assumption is just bollocks.

Maybe leave the death cam if it's difficult to remove and mute the players voip? Just a thought for a work around

Oh the shame, the shame.... ;-)

I should have known the dreaded "H" word would rear it's ugly head.

Get off the crack man, PR aint the place for that sort of sht and bloody hell you know that stuff aint good for you or anyone. ;-) ...... somethings, like the deathcam i thought were a very simple NO.

So good luck and use that left side of your old nogin - imagination, truely one of the ultimate weapons in the battle ag....i mean modding of the BF2 engine. :D

No, i was refearing the fact that the BF2 engine often requires imaginative, odd and random solutions to overcoming often apparently simply problems.

For example, Rhino or some DEV commented on a previous thread that to get SLAMS to explode after x seconds they could not have a timer count down to zero, instead they had to have the SLAMs hit points decreasing until at a rate that means it is destroyed after x seconds. Possiblity this was just a fictional example but you get the idea: nothing is as simple as it seems!
