ok this problem is really annoying me....alot lol

basically when i try to log in to my online account it CTD and i get an error message:

i think the game is failing to access the stats server so i turned off my firewall that did nothing. after that i uninstalled my bf2 and reinstalled to v1.0 and could connect no problem. i installed the 1.41 patch and it stopped working again, i also tried this with the 1.3 patch and it also has the error.

i recently updated punkbuster aswell

also just to clarify this is in vanilla bf2 and PR, its not an isolated PR problem

any input would be greatly appretiated

Correct me if I'm wrong but you have been fooling around with the SP ranking haven't you?

If you have here's how to solve it;
Go to C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\
Open the file 'hosts' with notepad.
There will be a line with 'BF2web.gamespy.com' in it.
Delete that whole line and save.

Should work beautifully if you have tried MacNeills SP rankings.

oh man thank you lol

ive been wanting to play with the little bird in AF for a while but you need your online account to play. the only thing i hate about the little bird in AF is how slow it is.

i like the one in PR but its really hard to control lol i think i need to spend like a few weeks practicing with it, it would be alot more fun

I dont want to make another thread for this so i'll just ask here while this post is still fresh

is it possible to get a pilot kit when i make my own server in PR. i want to fly around by myself but i guess because the game hasn't started i cant seem to request kits. i can join a squad and i can click request pilot kit but when i do nothing happens (no voice over or text on screen)

any ideas?

Start Multiplayer, Create Local, choose your map when map has loaded bring down the console [¬ or ~]and type..... sv.numplayersneededtostart 1 ...now go play with yourself.

NOTE: you can also set this in 'mods\pr_sp\python\game\realityconfig.py'
