Just throwing a medic idea out there.

This is a pretty small idea that wouldn't really do much but I was thinking:
A medic's duty is to preserve all human life bar none so you could make it so medics can shock paddle enemy casualties. Not to revive them of course but to make them "fade out" as when your fully dead (head shot/no medic timer left) to simulate evacuation to a hospital and then to a POW camp. The team would lose a ticket and the guy would get a death point as usual and have to wait the appropriate time to respawn. This would give the medic some points and make it so the enemy can't revive their fallen teammate as an incentive to do it.
Pretty dumb idea but I was just thinking about it and decided that I'd throw it out there anyway.

That would kind of defeat the purpose of killing him.

and why would that be?

It makes sense. Medics could effectively "kill" an enemy in a revivable state. It also makes sense that injured enemies would be evacuated to a POW camp, instead of either being left there to die, or being stabbed in the throat while not being able to move, which would probably be against laws of war. Having the enemy wait out the rest of the spawn time would mean no negative effects for the team doing the reviving.

You go out of your way to take down an enemy combatant... then you spend resources trying to assist him medically...

Cerberus, you make it sound like this is a new thing.

Countries have been helping wounded enemy soldiers in conflicts for years, not only are they good for intelligence purposes but also it makes them look good on TV, watch Dispatches: Fighting The Taliban.

British patrol shoot a member of the taliban during a firefight, they take him back to base, clean his wound, use their medical supplies on him etc.

But this is a videogame, the idea doesn't work... Project Reality is a realism mod, sure, but it's still a videogame.

Yes but its goal is to have as much as a real life experience we can get considering the engines limitations.

So this idea has an interesting point in it.

But I thik Eggman once said that putting a grenade on an enemy corpse "killed" him... so give the medics their grenades back !!! :p

I see what you're getting at here. Good idea but I'd rather save my battery for my squadmates ;)

Under the Geneva Convention any wounded, enemy or friendly must be treated the same.
So for example when you as medic TRIAGE the wounded and find that the enemy soldier is a higher priority to be treated 1st then he must be treated 1st.

If medics did not do this then they would be breaking the Geneva Convention however I bet there are times when they dont bother treating enemy etc.

Also medics cant be deliberately attacked and cannot have an offensive role in war as their right to carry arms is only for self defence.

Medics will never be able to be realistic in any game.

Well, this suggestion is a bit of realism that medics can use.

Maybe adding a ticket(s) to the capturing team. Maybe a SMALL respawn delay (10 seconds?) since they didn't have the option to run or dodge the shock paddles.

They added stabbing a civilian in the face means a capture, why can't shocking a bad dude mean a revive/capture?

Interesting idea...

A way to counter an enemy being resurrected + trying to add to the 'realism' of the game. However, I don't think many people would use it however - they'd rather wait for the enemy medic to come along and shoot them as well :P Our just go along their merry way.
Also as someone pointed out, we've only got 6 charges as it is - not going to waste it on a confirmed kill.
It would be funny though... you're on the ground and you hear the defibs warm up and you think "Yay! I'm saved!"...only to be permantly zapped to Hell :D

Well, any good medic would be one that wouldn't be far from a Rifleman to get a few ammo bags thrown at.
Plus, if the reward for doing this is balanced right, then getting those extra tickets from that OPFOR could be worth the later inability to revive the closest dead teammate.
