Guys,
Need help with calibrating my joystick for PR. Can't work it out. When I take off with heli it takes me stright to the right at 90 degrees and crashes me on near by obstacle (building, tree, hill etc.). Got Logitech Attack 3. I would appriciate any genuine help and if possible screenshot with settings. Save sarcastick comments for later

. Cheerio

Sure I do. I do worming engine for a while and than take off. Still takes me funny. Joystic is properly calibrated in Windows. All buttons are working. It is game settings that cause problems thats why I'm asking for possible screenshot and solid advice in that matter.

Can't help you with the joystick, but...
fly choppers with mouse and keyboard.
Really, it works fine.

P&K, sorry about that comment. And yeah, I'd use keyboard/mouse for chopter.

I find it easier to fly PR copters than VBF2 ones.

Wait, joysticks work with BF2? I've been trying to figure out how to get my joystick to work with it, but I couldn't find anything about it in the Options tab.

You can bind your joystick axis like any other key.

Works since BF1942.

I did calibrate my settings on secondary settings. But when i assign forward button it automaticly assign down button as well with Axis 1. When I take left it automaticly adds right as well with axis 0. Not sure what it goes wrong. Is anyone using joystick at all? Still hoping someone can paste screenshot with settings though. That would help me a lot. I tried to play with mouse but it doesn't work as well as joystic. I use joy on X3 Reunion and it works amazing. So i was kind of hoping to use it in PR as well. Please help if you can.

Don't worry about that.

I've tried using and configuring a joystick in BF2 and BF1942 although it was newish joystick it seemed completely incompatible (it worked with flight sims but not the bf games). I know you CAN use joysticks withy BF.
Maybe its a known issue, you tried it with any other games?

Hmm. I have an AV8R-01 Saitek, and did experience a problem similar to yours.
Jumped in the chopter, and it basically started spinning to the right. After fiddling with the controls and setting the sensitivity down almost all the way down, it got steady.
Then, when taking off (30 seconds later) it now takes a whole 9 seconds before it stalls to the right and crash into the ground. Still trying to figure it out. Gonna give l|Bubba|l's suggestion a try.

Funny like that. Got same setting in BF2142 and I fly like I was born in a choper. No probs whatsoever. Same with BF2. All cool and dundee. Why does it cause problems in PR?

In normal BF2 i used this
http://wiki.bf2s.com/tactical-guides/aviator-tactics
but flying choppers in PR is a nightmare. The sensitivity starts off on 3.00, so I have to change it to a number between 0.7 and 1.40. It seemed to help, but the helicopters are still all over the place for me as soon as I need to change speed/direction quickly. If you have all the time in the world (like on an empty server) I can just about manage it. When under fire, it's a nightmare.
I'm amazed at all the people who can fly (and land) the littlebirds on dime. I've seen people flying sideways and circle strafing. I couldn't even do that in normal BF2, let alone in PR!
Ok, flying the cobra is managable because you only really need to land to reapir, but I want to be able to do rapid insertions in the B'hawk or littlebird, it just looks good

Wow, i was wondering why flying was so hard with my Saitek joystick in PR!
When the chopper just starts to lift off it always floats to the right and makes it very hard to get control of again. Once recovered and flying it's fine...

In what file do I find these settings in PR BF2?
