At least it will be verry good for clos combat and it do's use the same ammo as the G3 but instead it uses 30 bullets instead of 20 rounds heres the sight about the gun and what countrys are developing it

I think you mean the HK33, but yeah. It would be a fine choice for the MEC rifle. However, it seems to watchword for the devs is diversity. Which means that they'll probubly keep the G3s as it gives the MEC a different play style to the rest of the armies with thier small calibre rifles.
HK33
Also, the magazine capacity can be up to 40 rounds. And lets face it, we
need 40 round magazines for MEC SF (who use the HK53, which uses the same H&K magazines)

Check your bottom link.
I do not know why the devs chose the G3 for the MEC (not that I challenge the decision, I just don't know why), but what's the difference between the G3 and the G33? They look very similar...
As for the G3, aren't there 30 round mags produced for it?

Well the first link is about the G33 trade organisation.
The G33 is the name for a group of developing countries that coordinate on trade and economic issues. The name is similar to that of the G8.
And the second link has a picture of an HK33. Also, H&K weapon only get the "G" designation when the are officially adopted by German Armed forces (eg G3, G41, G11, G36). until then they are know under thier H&K number designation, which, in the case of the HK33 stands for "H&K assault rifle, 5.56x45mm".
In addition, you said that the G33 used different ammunition to the G3. Now according to your link it fires 7.62mm. It does not, however, specify case length. As H&K have never produced a 7.62x54mm or 7.62x25mm, which, for general service rounds narrows it down to either 7.62x51mm (same as the G3), which you have ruled out or 7.62x39mm. For which there has only ever been 1 H&K military weapon, which was the HK32, which was produced in very small numbers and never adopted by any armed force on a large scale.
And that rifle in the link is unmistakeably an HK33. An A2 loaded with a 30 round magazine and fitted with a "helenic" style forgrip.

Well, Turk. I guess we all learned a lesson today: do not challenge Bob on anything gun-related, ever.

We must not forget the DEVs put alot of the time and effort in to re-modeling the G3 and therefore to much talk of how, why and what the G3 should be replaced with, seems some what disrespectfull.

imo the g3 is still good for close combat since even on fully auto holding down the mouse button only 2 shots have to hit for them to bleed or be killed.

I got an idea how about the FN FAL,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FN_FAL I mean it was used during Middle East war the SIX DAY WAR... I think it would be neat for the MEC...

Nah G3 is fine. Was the G3 the HK3 or does HK have something totally different from what the Germans name their rifles?

I'd better see MEC SO with G3A4 istead of HK53 ... or a HK53 with 40 or 30 rounds mag ... 25 rds is just plain wrong .
Or give MEC SO MC51 . Size of MP5 , 7.62x51

Turk, reading any thread on the G3 is going to tell you that this isn't going to happen and we've said all we are going to say on the issue.
