I’m writing this post mainly because previous one was locked. Maybe it was because it was yet another post about racism in gaming or maybe because it was uncomfortable for some people. I was playing BF: Vietnam, BF 2 and BF2142 for quite some time. There is plenty of anger in game, lots of swearing and cheating. I can easily live with those things but when it comes to racism it triggers something in me that I cannot fully control. I live in London which is awesome and one of a kind. You have plenty of people from all over the world. Asia, South and North America, Europe, Africa. Racism is fairly common in here but it’s dealt with quite efficiently (how do I know that? Coz in my spare time I police London as a Metropolitan Police Special Constable-not paid for job cop if you like). There is zero tolerance for any racism in here.
Gaming community is similar to this big nice sup that is London. You have player from all over world. People of different religions and skin colours, playing all together. PR is encouraging team play by kicking you out if you don’t join any team. But when it comes to deal with problems PR community is kind of stepping back from taking any sort of action. I’m not judging anyone but I though PR players will be more mature in dealing with such a problems. Simple solutions: kick from squad as a first step. Kick and ban from server as second step. You might ask yourself what can I do as a player? It’s job for admin. Admins are not on servers all the time. On many occasions I don’t even know who the admin is and it’s hard for me to contact them. Keeping recorded and post on this forum might be an idea of having evidence of racism players. Admins can visit here and say: ‘boy. That’s the one I can ban. I can see black on white’. I was kicked and banned many times especially is BF2142. Effect was immediate. I didn’t have to wait for someone to prove much to admins. They captured a screen of me swearing and there it goes: BAN. At least rules in BF2142 are fairly clean about it and community is taking steps to prevent that from happening. Here? Not so much. Most of post is starting good but it finishes with sarcastic comments and some players fighting over something that wasn’t even part of discussion. [R-DEV] Rhino asked in previous post: “and you want us to do what?” I think answer for that is within yourselves and way you want to act about it. Would you like to be called F..cking jew or fu…cking paki muslim, Russian knob or Asian wanker by someone like [PR] UKSF Robbo? I don’t.
To forum moderators: maybe you can come up with some solution to keep a list of evidence and this forum where everybody can see.
To all players: say something on this threat about your views on this problem. I’m happy to see all points of view and join discussion about it.

Ive never seen racism on any server that ive been in, and how do people know that other people are a different colour to them?, or a different religion?, in my experience racism is only found against people who actively advertise their beliefs, religion etc onto other people and have to put up with vulgar, racist comments from people with little brain power to let it go.

Luckily, as i stated earlier, experienced no racism in BF2 PR

The only thing you can do about it, is taking a screenshot and
inform the admins.

and the same thing again, What do you exspect the Dev team to do about this? There is nothing we can do is the awnser.

The fact is you are in the wrong place, If there was racizm going on these forums our moderators would deal with it soon enouth. But we do not control the servers, You need to contact the server admins about this guy proving the guys ingame name, PBGUID, and proof of it via a screenshot or w/e then he can be banned from the server. We can not do anything about it, its nothing to do with racizm why we cant do anything about it, we are simpley not in control of the servers.

There's a difference in getting carried away in the game than directly insulting another player.

Yes, I do know many racists in this community.

No, you won't get rid of them, but you'll get the community more aware of who they are and therefore admins will also become more aware of who's doing what on their server.

You won't get rid of them, but I think that'll help to reduce their population.

Im sry have i been missing something in the PR servers lately? Stating the presence of racism in a game with ananimoty is kind of an oxymoron isnt it? I could understand sexism, but racism?

He's the guy the OP is mentioning as example for racist comments, also check the locked thread on this page...
