would it be a good idea to make the L85 rifleman sights more like the M4 sights and less like the sniper sights. With the M4 sights, you can see around where your aiming. for example the Euro force F90.

the current L85 sights are like a snipers scope.

(L85)
look at how the sights are black around the edges whereas the F90 and M4 sights you can see on the edges
i had the feeling that since the L85 is a rifle and not a Sniper that this might be a good idea...

M4 are reflex (1x) sights, while SUSAT is 4x I believe, that is why it is like that.

That's how it is in real life. If I'm not mistaken, the L85's SUSAT sight is 4x magnification, and in order to get good eye relief, your eye must actually contact the back of the SUSAT.
That P90's reticle is completely wrong. It's not a reddot, it's a white T with a circle in the middle, that has tritium inserts so it glows in low-light.
The SVD reticle is missing the rangefinder graph.

The SUSAT is fine as it is although, the sight picture for the Iron Sights could be improved, otherwise it is fine, very good model.

I think the whole point of having a reddot sight is being able to keep the other eye open while looking through it. You can't really do that with a magnifying scope, without seeing all wrong.

Actually its like that due to engine limitations. The zoom affects the whole screen, so having the outside of the scope visible would be unrealistic beacuse you would have a much greater field of zoomed vision than in reality.
And as Gaz said, putting your eye right on the scope causes pain.

Red dot sights, in particular the aimpoint used on the M4 is designed for CQB confrontations (iirc) and the SA80 is a rifle, designed for larger engagement distances, its fine how it is, and probably the most realistic gun in the game.
Wouldnt put your eye near the back of an SA80, dont fire it left handed either, knocked one of my teeth clean out with the cocking handle

how the fuck did u do that u nub... the cockin handle it minute, the only thing that is dangerous firing it left handed is that it spurts out the empty cases into ur face, and they hurt... i know, except it was my mate sa80 about a meter to me left, the cases go bloody wild when ejected,
also its wat is in real life, as there is a rubber ring to protect ur eye from contact from the sa80 this also tunnels u vision alot so u can see anythin around

Your eyebrow, in real life, should be resting on the rubber ring in order to get the full view down the susat. This is also pretty damn useful when stagging on, gives a good place to rest the front of your lid on and grab some kip!!

and what happens if you wear glasses like me and many others here?
gee, some of you perfect specimens of human beings just don't leave any leeway for those disabled by something as common as short sightedness, let alone anything worse! You'll learn as you get older and start falling apart.
