I wonder if it would be possible to give the insurgents back their rope.

If im not mistaken none of the class have rope anymore and i think that kinda gets rid of a whole dimension of the battlefield, not being able to go on roofs that is. Thoughts?

Civilians get it, but for some (ghey hardcoded) reason it doesn't show up in the weapon select menu. Use the #9 key to access it.

Yeah why isn't it just a regular menu item? I think it was "2" last time.
I'd like to have insurgents get their rope back...I think it's a bit far for civilians to be toting around all the toys.

It gives the civvies more usage and requires more team work and brains on the Insurgents behalf. Another attempt by the devs to battle the rambos and n00bs.

I don't recall a whole lot of people using it in .5, really. That was a bummer because an any special weapon crewman (RPG, MG, SA7, etc) greatly benefited from anyone who had a hook and would use it for them.

Good job too, because the rest of us using it to hide on small roofs and ambush USMC troops from the rear knew almost for certain that enemy wouldn't be looking where we were

But, but, but, insurgents are supposed to be rambos hiding in balconies and roofs

The grappling hook is the perfect escape tool for the civvies. You can climb a rooftop, pick up the rope, and toss rocks down at Brits without them being able to do anything about it (besides shooting you, which they do if you piss them off enough).

Nah, it's rock galore, until they come after you with a knife, then it's Benny Hill action.
there was this guy than ran after me, and I ran round and round one of those destructable buildings, until he shot me.

See, that's when you toss a grappling hook on the roof, climb up, and pick it up (hopefully when he's trying to climb after you).

Ah, the good old days of playing SF when you pulled down the zip line that you'd put up and the enemy thought it was a good idea to use.
