Flares and Chaff

Before anything is said. I'm no n00b to this forum. I spent the last 10 minutes looking threw threads to see if this idea has already been suggested or talked about in detail. With this out of the way, I apologize if I missed a thread that details all the comments of the following and this thread is ment to be a discussion so don't just say oh Agreed, good idea, debate, think, use your head and explain why you agree or disagree with this idea.

As of current in a jet you can deploy flares, all or nothing.

My belief and knowledge in this subject of aerial combat and such leads me to believe that this needs, and must be changed to allow aircraft to retain real performance.

Suggestions:
-Create a chaff dispenser type of thing.
-Allow flares to be deployed individually (usually 2 per press of the button). With a set number that are allowed to be deployed. (reloadable upon landing)
-No regeneration of flares(allowing them all to be deployed in quick succession, but in thsi a missile tweak is needed, maybe having a higher ratio of a2a missiles and aa ignoring countermeasures, but with the more flares / chaff dispersed the less of a chance the missile will hit it's target) yet again with a set number, reloadable upon landing.

In #3 the missile tweak is not really needed but it will add in realism.

Finally I know that Air Combat was never really been the major focus of the mod, though it has continued to be revamped and bettered throughout the development, so any "crapping" on this idea is understood.

We've encountered some technical challenges (possible hard coding) to make the flares systems work the way we want them to. Will work on it some more for v0.7.

Sounds good thanks for the quick reply Egg.

Like Red said elaboration would be kinda nice, but if "classified" oh well, we'll just have to wait and see.

I think the quick dispensing thing is in 0.6, it very much seemed like it at least.

I think ideally they'd want them to be separate entities but It's probably hard to code 2 different types of countermeasures into the engine.

last time I played POE2 they had that feature
(drop flares one at a time)
