Yes this is a very sound idea and it shows you are smart to come up with it.
...HOWEVER, look before you leap.
If you were to 1)Take a look at the up comming additions to PR, you would see that the motar kit is a WIP
2) Use the search funtion and see that player based arty and mortars has been very heavily suggested.
Please wipe your feet on the search funtion before you step foot in the suggestions lounge. Type in key words or the name of your suggestion(providing at leats 1 word is longer than 3 figures) into the search bar 3 times, every time using alternate names and words for your suggestion.
For example, Assault rifle, AK-47, Kalashnikov.
