Devs tried to do something like that but with mixed results if I recall correctly. I don't think their aim was to kill everyone inside a room, just the backblast would shove some of the people around them.

yeah it's one of the most important things missing from the AT weaponry atm. need to figure out a way to do it. afaik the backblast on RPGs and AT4s is particularly bad.. like 30m or something.

Some kind of claymore radius effect sent backwards, but smaller?
Or an impossible coding task?

Isn't there already a backblast for people standing behind AT?

I swear I TK'ed a medic with the back blast off a SMAW or RPG in 0.4, but I think that it comming up in a game was so random and so rare that they removed the possiblity of it in 0.5...

Has there ever been any evidence of a backblast killing a bystander, or someone launching the weapon inside, being killed?
The only instance I know of is a SF operator who got knocked off his feet from an RPG backblast. Didn't hurt him, just made him a bit dizzy.

the blast from the at-4 is basically an overpressure blast that f&cks you up really bad, it blows your eardrums, and fills your lungs with blood. it does kill.

AT-4 CS is certainly in use. Has been for a while. But you still couldn't fire from a crowded room. There's a newer weapon that uses plastic chunks. As long as 4 feet behind the operator is clear, you can fire it. There's a German and a Singaporean version out so far IIRC.

I was killed by the backblast of an Eryx back in .4 when I was trying to heal somebody.

I never fired AT4 from inside, the only AT weapon, I wanted to shoot out of a window, was the RPG, but I was scared, it was gonna blow up into my face, as RPG accuracy does

Ehm. Stand behind an anti-tank system and you'll get burned badly, this is pretty much the first thing you learn when training with these systems.
Shooting an at indoors without any "soft-launch" feature is not even recommended at all, I believe you need atleast 10 meters of clearance behind the user to eliminate any risk, in other words you would rarely be able to utilize them in a indoor scenario.

Ever been in a microwave? Me neither, but I'd expect it to be like that.

So, who's gonna stand behind a standard
AT4 as it's being fired, in order to see what happens?

i know that you'll die pretty easyily in AA if you stand behind an RPG going off, thats where alot of my TK's come from

Let me rephrase my question: has anyone ever fired an AT weapon inside a building, and died? Has anyone been behind an AT weapon and died? Is it just preventitive training, because they really don't know if you will die?
