Explosives and shrapnal

I have already used search (on the already suggested post) and yes I know this is the BF2 engine ....but would it be possible to have sharpnal damage from explosives kind of like splash damage I'm guessing. I don't play much because I don't have the time but I think theres a lack of surrounding damage done by explosives. It's like you/they die... or they don't (this is vs infantry). Also, maybe applying an effect like this tank HE rounds and RPG/AT weapons maybe? Although the 'dizzy' effect is kind of good.
Just tell me if I'm full of B.S or if its not possible

Well, assuming that the blast is pushed up and out in a 360 degree arc it would make sense that being prone near the nade would not cause enough damage as if you were standing, or it could just be the dodgy engine.

well, generally for the L109 the shrapnel radius is 190m

yea, but that what about the concentration of the shrapnel?

Speaking of shrapnel and grenades. What if your squad member went prone on a grenade to save his other squadmembers, will the blast be absorbed on him, killing him, but save the others around him? I've always wanted to know this when playing PR because I'm sure that the blast would wound or kill anyone because y'know the BF2 engine is bad...

My guess is that the explosion would simply go through him.

not only concentration, but consider the decrease in energy/speed at that distance

well considering the engines laws of physics, it would probly make the body fly 10m while still killing everyone around it
