Suicide Jacket

I know this was sugessted a awhile back but now we have civilians. Civilians should be able to pick up a jacket loaded with c4 (2-3 max). Since they are realtivly considered not harmful they just strole where ever until someone grabs them or shoots them (mostly get shot). Sure there is a car but when you see a red car coming at you or driving in the distance its an immediate target ... not the civilian.

I see many problems with this. Civvies are essentially untouchable, so if they had explosives that aren't clearly visible, they'd be able to just stroll in wherever and explode.
Also, every time you shoot a civilian, it counts as a civilian death, even if he was running at you and refusing to comply with requests to freeze, ignoring warning shots, etc, which probably wouldn't be the case in real life. In real life, a situation where somebody kept running at you, regardless of warnings, would be treated differently from a situation where you just randomly open up with the 50 cal, killing an entire family a mile away from your position.

well if they are armed they wouldn't be civilians but rather combatants, they already got the suicide car is a vest really needed

If you give them a pickup vest it will just cause the other team to shoot them more often as any could blow you up. It's hard enough to get people to stop shooting them and more games would be lost on wasted tickets.

Give them jackets, but make them SOMEWHAt distinctable. Like they have their hand in their pocket, or a larger jacket. So it isnt impossible to tell the difference. But its key to make it hard to tell the difference because it is in real life.
Or have it so they do something before they detonate to give the gunner like 2 seconds to react and take him. Idk, but I support this idea.
The thing about suicide cars that gets me is that you shoot at them no matter what. This you might not shoot at them all the time, which is realistic. I mean this isnt nam where you can go take out a village and not worry about bombs.

Why not make the bomb vest a new unit, looks exactly like the civilian so its up to the patrol to decide whether or not take them down, if they take him down, then it isnt classed as a civilian death and youve just prevented your team from dying, if it is a civilian, then youve just been penalised for it.
And people wont spam it, players would be civilians sometimes, bomb vests others, if the soldier kills me when im a bomb vest guy then so be it, if he kills me as a civilian because he thinks i have a bomb vest, then ive won anyway.

This is what I'm talking about. In real life, people with explosives on them generally look like normal civilians. However, in real life, a soldier can yell at a civilian to freeze, and can fire warning shots at him before actually shooting him. If a civilian is running towards a checkpoint, and refuses to stop, even when fired upon, then shooting him won't carry the same penalty as shooting a random guy in the back. If a guy starts yelling that he has a bomb, while in reality he's bluffing, nobody is going to blame the soldier who shoots him.
In the game, if it's a civilian, you get penalized either way, so theoretically, you should NEVER fire at any potential threat if it looks like a civilian, because even if he's running towards your vehicle with what appears to be hostile intent, and doesn't stop when fired upon, you'll still get punished if he's bluffing.

Can't we just say this suggestion is hardcoded so that we can have people stop suggesting this?

will the other team be able to pickup these vests?

Suicide attacks are already in game.

I thought mabye hardcoded no? since yuo cant attach C4 onto players (but EA originally said you could), and would require new model yes? No?

wow ... just make him look a little different. when your a sniper and you grab a rifleman kit your looks change. you dont still look like a sniper. when your one class and you pick something up normaly you change what you look like. so whats the difference if when he picked it and his player model switch (like it does) sso he looks alittle different. or hell dont make it a civilian that grabs the kit make the pickup kit look like a civilian somewhat so any terrorist can grab it except the civilians.

I'm talking about every civilian being a suicide bomber.

If it is a pickup kit, then obviously it won't be everyone nor 3/4 nor 1/2 nor 1/4....
And as soon as you put such a weapon on, you are no longer a civilian. A civilian who picks up a weapon becomes a combatant, and then a target. Ethics don't apply. And really when right now you can shoot all the civilians you want, I don't see any threads about violations of the Geneva Convention or how it is unethical.

We were talking about this earlier on another thread and this is what I came up with, along with some added content.
1. They are look like a Civilian. Green shirt. White Pants. All that, and a small phanny pack that would be the explosive, but couldn't tell the difference from the front. But, with careful use of LOD (Level of detail, appearance of certain aspects of a model/skin depending on distance away from view point. IE: Looking at the guy right next to you you can tell the colour of his eyes. Looking at that guy through your scope a few 100 meters away you can't tell if he is throwing a grenade or had a broken arm.) there would be a tell-tale sign on them (Red wire?) when you were close, making it so it is possible for a Civie and a Bomber to walk around without worrying about getting shot.
2. Weapons (# = Slot) 1. Knife 3. Rocks 4. Detonator 5. Smoke Grenade. Knife for killing a target that wouldn't be worth the suicide. Rocks to at least look a little bit like civilians. Detonator to blow themselves up with. Smoke so they could cover their escape on a failed attack or to cover an attempted attack.
3. Scoring would be the same as anyone else in Jihad Car.
Now, to add some balance, the detonator would have an above average draw time and would have a delay between activation and explosion. It'd have an ammo count of fire just for a joke.
How's my take on your idea rub you?

I think ethical and political went out the window when i constantly here "Allah Achbar" over VOIP, or the constant racism spouted by kids young enough to be my offspring.

Yes, I'm tired of seeing people typing that in the chat but I've never heard anyone verbally say it on VOIP. It's funny because half the people who say it don't even know what it means...
