If you registered your game when you installed it you can find your cd-key from:
EA link > Edit > My Account > log in > My Games tab > and under "My EA Games" theres a list of your games and their cd-keys

Wouldn't it also be stored in your registery like other games.

Go to

Run > Regedit > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Sofware >

Most games keep the CD Key in the registery. Just a matter of finding it :p

It's encrypted in the registry.

I seem to remember instructions posted somewhere where you can go into the registry and find it. You have to search though im not sure where I saw it.

If you do genuinely have a legal copy of the game, you can usually request a new one from EA. Just email customer support or whatever their equivalent is.

I have a CD key related problem and did not want to start a new topic so any help here would be appreciated. I have proper CD keys and everything was working fine until today when I started getting the "CD key is not valid" error message. Anyone know if there is anything to do I can fix this junk before I have to reinstall? Stupid EA.

It probably means either you've fiddled with your registry, or done a windows restore. Worst case scenario is that someone else is using your CD key and doing bad things with it. E-mail customer support, they will try and point you in the right direction!

What I did was used my friends key for BF2 when reinstalling it on my dads account in Windows and played the game on my account in windows and it only blocked my dads account. Although I would not advise this, there is a possiblity.

Update: I am no longer getting the CD key error but instead I just crash out to desktop when I try to join a game in vanilla or any BF2 mod. :( Anyone get this before?
