spike strip / stinger

I was just watching a video for VBS2 the military sim and I saw them deploying spike strips and I thought I might aswell put the idea out here. I imagine it wont be worth the effort, but I know you have ways of disabling a vehicles controls. Maybe it can be done like the tanks tracks being destroyed.
Would be pretty cool on maps like Al Basrah. UK forces can immobilise insurgents cars. And insurgents can throw them out across the roads from the sides and then ambush the people in the jeeps.
The advantage I see them having over mines is the ability to cover a larger area. And being able to deploy them from a longer distance at sides of street.
Maybe can be instead of grapple hook for engineer on certain maps.

suppose the grappling hook code could be reworked to do this, devs?

Location specific effects are impossible on BF2 viechles, this would simply work like a very wide landmine, if implimented. And there's no gaurentee that it would blow out the tires, as IIRC, the partial damage system works on such and such amount of damage has such and such a chance of causing an additional effect (ie blowing the track off a tank or disabling its turret).

i think flat tire is impossible in bf2 engine, correct me if im wrong about that. The only thing comes close is knifng the tire and make a hiss noise.
i first thought this thread said stripper

If it could be done then one grand advantage would be area denial w/o the threat of teamkilling.
It's a great idea and one that hasn't been suggested before and that alone makes it worth a great big THANK YOU.

Arnt the tires set to go out at X amount of damage? Say its at 60% the tires blow out. Have it so the spike strip does 40 damage, boom your at 60% and your tires are bye bye.

Or (and I don't know quite how the partial damage/additional effect stuff works) set the probability of a tyre blowout from that weapon to 100%?
