"pb_sleep 500" as permanent setting in PR?

In order to increase the performance on my system, I always reduce
the number of harddrivechecks by changing the intervall from 20 seconds to 500, as it is recommended on the PB-Forums. This makes an noticeable difference for me, especially on bigger maps.

In vanilla you just could save the setting with "pb_writecfg",
but in PR it's set back to "20", everytime I (re-)start the game.

Does anybody know how to make this change permanent?
So I don't have to change it everytime I'm joining a server... *lazy*

Thanks in advance.

I'd just create the file, and keep a backup of the modified one, and before launching BF2 :P R, copy, paste and replace the original file.
This would save you oopening the file and modify over again.

Join a server, open the console and type in "pb_sleep 500".

You can do this in the console menu ingame.

My problem is, I can't find that command it in any file... :-(

Well, that sounds about right. When ever I'm on a server that has a little lag, it seems to hit about every 20 seconds... This should definitely be added as a constant variable in PR to avoid this, especially since Real Life doesn't have lag.

WTF? just ask FPS_Doug.

What does it do, that command, anyway? delay lag?

Write it in your "gamelogicinit.con".

FPS-Doug...

The command just increases the interval between the HD-checks that
punkbuster is doing. Like i said, standard is every 20 seconds, means pb is searching your HD for "illegal files" every 20 seconds, which can take a lot of system ressources.

Thanks, I'll try this when I'm back home.

if that works in gamelogicinit we could look at adding that as part of the PR base configuration.

So.. what you are saying is that you could set any number here?

What i can understand of this is that you basically could go around the punkbuster checks and run cheats without detection???

I you just put in a huge number and off you go...

WFT??????
please correct me, and say I’m wrong here

500 is the max you can use, anything bigger and you get warning to change it back or else you get kicked from the server if you don't.

I'm also interested in this, but I don't know what I should exactly type in there? All I see are 3 kind of lines:

rem
run
gameLogic

What should be the line for the pb_sleep 500? Just pb_sleep 500?

How do you know if it's set to 20 or 500? Any specific command?

Thanks

Just write it at the end of this file.

You can test it by typing "pb_sleep" in your console. It will return the current value.
