Connecting to Account Server - What is the fix to speed up?

I know this has been discussed before... but I can't find it.. i've searched using 4 different combinations.
My old main account MadTommy takes ages to connect; minutes.
My newest JustTommy about 1 second.
What do i need to delete etc. to help my old account become refreshed? or is this EA server side?
Thanks.
As everything works i've put this is General Discussion - please move to Help & Hardware if thats were it should be.
EDIT:
THE FIX:
Go to \My documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\000*\ and open up General.con.
Scroll to the bottom and delete every line with an IP in it. Then you can write-protect the file to avoid getting all of that **** back in there, but you then loose the ability to change a few settings.
(i also deleted the logo cache)
Thank you Zrix, works like a charrm..and took about 15 seconds to do

ehhh think its more with the EA servers trying to locate your rank etc...

Yeah, the earlier you created your account, the longer it takes for EA to go down the list to retrieve it. So yeah, make a new account = faster connection to account server.

Delete favorites. Helps a lot me thinks.

I've heard that if you delete it, and then re-find it, that helps. I just create a new Wasteland-based name.

Yep, delete favourites. It's somewhere in the Profiles folder, methinks.

delete all the **** in your My Documents/bf2/cache folders. makes a HUGE difference. It's the server history that takes forever.

Hmm, so when a game gets old and they start dropping support for it, all this cache shite starts to appear...
Had the same problem with another game, cache files generated like rats inside the game directory, crashing the game, when round ended while playing online...

its not really a bug as such its just the game tries to locate all the servers in your server history even if they do not exist hence the long waiting times,
if you delete all the server icons from my docs, the load up speed will only be under a min ususally as opposed to 5 mins before i started doing this.

Try this, it worked wonders for me:

Its the BF2 Cleaner. Just open it up and you can clear the server logo cache, clear your server history, and disable those annoying start-up videos. It should greatly decrease your startup/load time.
Enjoy!

THIS IS THE ONE....
I did this & deleted logo cache... load times went from 5 mins to 5 seconds...
Thank you.

Cheers Zrix. For some reason my computer won't auto-open it with notepad... just have to do it manually I guess.
