Understanding the grenade launcher reticle?

I've been trying to find some assault guides for BF2, or anything that might have information on the grenade launcher reticle aka crosshair but can't find ****. I was hoping some of you guys have information about it, or your own personal experience in how to read those GL crosshairs to help me out

You just gotta play around with it would be the best advice. It can be tricky and cause a lot of TK's. Altitude definitely effects your aim as well...it's not to hard to pickup a good feel for it and start owning people. I use it more like a shotgun...so duckout fire a shot and duck away. Run with a rifleman and just spam the things, but in the end its WAY more effective if you can get on rooftops and ambush squads...you can easily wax entire squads quickly if they don't see you. Oh yeah and keep laughing at the "Proners" when they lay down for your nades

In BF2 the GL sights cannot be used the way they're supposed to be used. Its a limitation...and this is the case in Armed Assault as well..

Don't nade spam. Don't use the grenade launcher unless you're firing at a fixed position or a large group of people. It is an ASSAULT RIFLE WITH A GRENADE LAUNCHER ATTACHMENT, not the other way around.

Remember to let the grenade launcher 'settle'. Once you havem oved your crosshair, wait for 2 seconds, and it will be a bit more accurate.
(also, keep in mine, you CAN fire at single soldier. It's just MAYBE in the long run - not so tactically proficiant! And if you want reasons I can give you them

)

What you're supposed to do is run around with the nade launcher out, and when you see someone 5 meters in front of you, pronedive and shoot!
Seriously do, on the rare occasions that I do use the GL, I do it by feel. The top bars on the reticle are where the grenade flies towards, so you just have to estimate how far above the target to put them.

The way you use the GL crosshairs is this. You align the crosshair so the bit which is as wide as the the person, when they are looking at you, is at their feet. This only works when you and your target are on horizontal ground, when you are standing, when the crosshair isn't zoomed and when they are still.
EDIT: In PR they don't work since they are zoomed...

I have found that out to medium range the sights can be used. Once you start trying to hit targets a good distance away you need to stary aiming considerably higher.
I use the top area of the site if someone is fairly close to me.
I use the bottom of the sight for medium ranges.
I line up with the bottom of the site and then raise my sights several degrees for long range.
It just takes parctice, no way around it. But the bottom of the site is what I use the most.

Can we use *Iron Sights Reticles* for the grenade launcher?

in my experiance, top line = 10m, each line below that is a further 10m distance away from you.

They fixed it in ArmA

I wish something like that would be possible in bf too, but I doubt it.

Isn't the Nade Launcher the primary weapon?!!
Now it all makes sense!

i played Road to kyong ni (sp?) and was ontop a roof at the bridge as american, saw 4 chinese guys run through the gate, popped a m203 right smack dab in the middle, and just watched the bodies fly..
I try and use them for large groups, when you know you can hopefully put it close enough to where if it doesnt blow everyone up, you can wip out the gun and pop a round into them.

The problem is that the primary weapon runs out of HE rounds so fast, you'll soon have to switch to the assault rifle attached to it.
And we can't get GL sights to work like they do IRL, which is by aligning the front sight and leaf sight.
