If you don't like reading, skip ahead to the end to look at some pretty pictures. I bet most of you would do that anyway.

Before I begin, I've searched everywhere and I have no idea what EA based the MEC FAV off of because I can't find a real life picture of it anywhere. If by some chance that I'm not correct in asuming that EA just made it up (like the Z-10 which is actually a A-129 Mangusta *cough cough*), but I'm almost certain that the FAV doesn't exist.

The Fennek is a German scout vehical currently in use which fills the role of a light recon vehical. Although EA displayed the MEC as basically a Russian military clone, PR has been displaying them as a wealthy confederation that uses a combination of new equipment and Bundeswehr overflow, so it stands to reason the Fennek could be used.

So down to business, it has 3 crewmembers: A driver, Gunner, and somebody to operate telescopic camera. It can be equipped the a HK GMG (automatic grenade launcher), a .50 cal HMG, a dutch company is placing stinger missiles on it, and Spike ATGMs. Since the Spike is made by Israel, I find it hard to believe that the MEC would get their hands on one, so a Milan or Kornet ATGM would work better.

Since the UAZ is rather outdated the Fennek could serve as a replacement since a small portion of them are used as Combat Engineering vehicals.

It was a thread in the military hardware section, unlike many people in the suggestions forum, I actually did some research before posting this.

A Fennek would be awesome. And having a Desert Fox fits very well with the MEC, I think!

Though having a 40mm or even .50" on there could be a bit imba. Mind you, theres no reason we cant have an unarmed one I suppose.

Doesnt fit any current faction. It doesnt fit real life either...*cough* batmobile *cough*.

Its a German and Dutch vehical and I'm basing my premise of its inclusion on the fact that the MEC already bought a huge amount of leftover weaponry from the Bundeswehr in the form of G3s. I wouldn't say that the MEC buying Fenneks is any less realistic than buying T-90s or BTR-90s or Su-34s for that matter. Most of those havn't even entered full scale production, the Fennek on the other hand has more than proven itself.

The FAVs are not longer used in PR... so no need to replace something that isn't there.

Although I havn't played .606 yet, I remembered a FAV and DPV on Daqing and one of the things I felt that was seriously lacking in Kashan desert was fast moving patrol vehicals (although the Satnav bikes were a lot of fun). Equipping Fenneks with ATGMs would provide a good counterbalance to the TOW Humvee or the Avenger as well as perhaps other varients of Humvees in the future.

Even if you want to completely eliminate the patrol vehical from PR, I do think that it would provide a more modern replacement for the UAZ.

Edit: Oh and just now realized, the one on Daqing is for the chinese. I'll look for a fast moving Chinese patrol vehical later.

The other part of his suggestion was that it replace the UAZ in the support viechle role, so ner.

The MEC FAV is looking to me like the Chinese FAV which in real life is called "Paratrooper FAV" THIS IS MY SOURCE

Looks to me that the MEC FAV is same as chinese except for a change in skin and gun attachments. Then again MEC is a fictional force, in which its a mystery if they use FAV or not...

Yay for me!

I'm supprised that this idea is dying so quickly considering PR hasn't explored that deeply into different weapons mounted on heavy jeeps. A well coordinated squad with the support jeep and TOW humvee could quite easilly destroy all of the enemies armor in a well placed ambush. Kashan is in desperate need of more patrol vehicals and jeeps with different weapons, avengers anyone?
