ive seen alot of:
"put the mp5 in for brit special ops"

putting the mp5 is is a BIG leap back
its a smg not a rifle
in landscaping maps like basra the british use rifles or carbines
it cant hit hostles at around 700-1000yrds

just to get it off my chest

People want the MP5 back in the game? Since when?

I don't want the MP5 to replace the M4A1 but not everyone hangs back and shoots at long range. The job of the infantryman involves getting up close.

Not always, normally in a squad we hang back pick off guys with our rifles, then we move in when the base is cleared.

SPEC ops in game have carbine

The British Spec Ops use the L119A1/C8SFW rifle, not the M4A1.

In ArmA I'll often take the MP5 when assaulting a city, simply because I can accurately put 3 rounds into a hostile from the hip. You can't do that with a rifle. PR is different, I know. But I'm just saying, there's nothing retarted about an MP5 in a war zone.

And as such British SF will be keeping their L119A1s (Diemaco C8A1 SFWs [which are not M4A1s, they've got 16" rather than 14.5" barrels, along with several other features).

There is absolutely no chance of the Brit SF getting an SMG to replace their carbines. They might get a new carbine (which I doubt, for a very, very long time), but they wont get an SMG.

Unless spec ops becomes a CQB class.

At which point they cease being "British SF" and become "British CQB", making the argument irelavent!

And everyone will (presumeubly) get an SMG then anyway, meaning there will be no balance issue.
