para trooper spawn drop

Now a few things before i get into this. 1. I know this has been mentioned before but i went to get my idea out. 2. I wish to refreash this subjuct. and 3. Looking at other threads I think my idea is pretty good.
Now I have noticed how we have the new bunker's and firebases which can be placed by the commander and built by infantry. I have also noticed we have paratroopers on "airport" Now i ask. Can we combine these to together to create a Paratrooper drop?
The way it could work is that commander can set down a para drop anywhere he wants which will have a lengthy time limit. it will show up on the map and your side can spawn on it. but the have to wiat for 90 secs and before that they had 15 secs to get in line. so about i say 2 squads (12 inf) get into the "plane" before 15 secs runs out, then wait 90 secs for the plane to get to the battle. The trops in line get let out around the location but its extremly high and their shoots are deployed strait away. this could be for behind enemy lines on large maps and it wont be that unfair because they cannot request any kits so theres no rally points hidden.
Dont be harsh. I just wanted to see wat people think. I love the Parashoot but its only a "screwed already but i might get back after half the game"

well it's pretty much the same idea that has been suggested before...
And I don't really like it, paradropping into the middle of a firefight isn't really a realistic idea. (well at least according to my understanding)

well obviously. You'd be a stupid commander to drop them over the middle. im saying back in a quiet place away from the fire. also they cant have weapons on the way down. exept knife and maybe pistol. its just shooting ducks if they drop them in a gun fight or close to enemy troops.

Yes i Know that it has paratroopers, but last i checked an army cant come out of the same position in the air in a steady stream. at least make it timed in clusters so it seems like a plane is passing over every couple of minutes.

I have a few questions and I am not flaming your idea.
1. Why is everyone so fascinated by paratroopers ?
--> 1a. Is it because of Band of Brothers ?
2. Are you aware that paratroopers have failed to achieve their mission almost every time they have been used ?
3. Are there any current plans to use paratroopers in any numbers on the modern or future battlefield. ( I mean at least brigade size drops - not SEAL HALO/HAHO )

And they would need parachutes, or else they would fall down like a brick.
And if they have no weapons, whats the use anyways? Charging with M9 on the frontlines?
When they used paratroopers in WW2, the forces that landed on D-Day, had to search for them in the first days, cos they got lost

Remember the movie Saving Private Ryan...

Don't forget Operation Market Garden or the Fallschrimjäger's drop in the Unternehmen: Wacht am Rhein.
EDIT: post lag..... there are those two and I'm sure there were others.
I'm not saying that vertical envelopment has no place at all on the modern battlefield but it is pretty limited these days.

Commander placed Paradrops were suggested 3 or 4 weeks back.
Band of Brothers is set in 1942-45, this is the 21st century.
No F4z+r0pez aren't possible, or atleast the Devs want us to believe so, maybe a surprise for v1.0.

there are lots of reason for market gardens failing, and it wasnt a total wash out.
and for the 2nd operation that roughtly translates as
Fallschrimjaeger's drop in the enterprise: Is awake on the Rhine.
paratroopers have been used many succesful times, dont forget paradrops where a fairly new thing in world war 2 and and the germans stuned the world with their airborne assault on cyprus and smaller attacks on the french forts at the start of the war

I thought it was Crete and a Belgian fort and they used gliders as well but w/e.
The way I read it the same thing happen to the German paratroops that happened on D-Day.
They were scattered to hell-n-gone and had no unit cohesion.
But, like D-day, the enemy was getting reports of paratroops landing everywhere so they did serve an important function.
All I am saying is that with modern air defense systems dropping division of paratroops is not a practical exercise and is more likely a waste of highly trained troops that could be better used elsewhere.

I am sad to say that the Belgian forts kinda got ownaged by a combination of German gliders and paratroopers, who landed pretty much right ontop of it. Didn't the US drop a whole division in Iraq at the start of the war?

yes it was my mistake.
when the Germans attacked the forts, the plane towing the gliders carrying their officers suffered engine problems and had to turn back. but the paratroopers so well trained and drilled didn't even notice their Commanding officers where missing until the battle was over and the fort had been taken.

I wasn't trying ot be picky but I thought I'd get those details in before somebody else did.
I think those operations were the exception rather than the rule.
Now if we could get some HALO drops, with silenced sniper rifles and ..........j/k

not really, theres been alot of successful assualts by paradrops.
market garden and d-day could have been the exception.

Yeah, Panama/Just Cause is a good example of a parachite op that went well

Thing that's been highlighted with all these ops though is that's they're the precursor to a larger assault in the same area; AFAIK paras haven't been dropped halfway through an ongoing battle (except by accident).
An alternative suggestion would be destroyable "Para-Points" on the ground, with no additional supporting CPs or bases for the attacking side. Ideally, they'd appear randomly when the map loaded (although I'm guessing this isn't possible)
The defending team would be able to take out the para-points, stopping any more parachute inserts.
The paras would have to land and establish rallypoints prior to the defenders accomplishing this, and from then on all troops would spawn as usual.
Squad leaders, APCs (from captured CPs) and RPs would gain additional value as *the* only places to spawn from once the landing sites had been discovered and cleared by the defenders- a new layer of teamwork woudl be required to ensure that at least two or three spawn points are always available.
The fact that the landing sites would be destroyable would represent the fact that once the element of surprise is lost and supply routes can be established by troops on the ground, there's little point dropping in more troops.
It'd allow a highly skilled set of defenders to quickly move to the landing sites and take them out, forcing the attacking team to quickly move out and establish RPs and such once on the ground- in effect, the chaos immediately post-drop would be in the need to group up and get an RP down.
I'm not sure why everyone seems so drawn to paras, but if they were ever to be included I think that's probably the best way they could be implemented.

There is no reason to jump out of a perfectly good airplane.
