NEW secret weapon. Who needs bullets?

Last time I played Jabal, I was headed to west beach and noticed a blackhawk landed on a hillside. It was still funcional, and to my surprise, I was a able to get a pilot kit out of it. A squad of infantry nearby heard it spinning up. They opened fire a cliff above me with small arms weapons and a saw. A friendly troop got into the blackhawk and I turned to let him shoot the infantry. Anyone familiar with the blackhawks knows that the miniguns won't hurt much. I finished spooling up and saw that my gunner had fired for almost 20 seconds and hadn't killed any troops yet. I thought about just lifting off, but to my, and most likely their surprise, I shifted forward running one over. I lifted off and proceeded to kill 3 more before a vodnik began to fire. I then returned to the carrier to repair. By the end of the round I had killed seven infantry by running them over. I've decided that until the miniguns are fixed, I will continue to run people over with the blackhawk.

Kinda reminds me of that one time I was on Kufrah on the eastern flag (whatever it's called), with H-AT, on top of the eastern building, trying to kill a tank below. For over a minute while I was shooting and reloading the AT, I had a Littlebird trying to run me over. He kept making low passes over the rooftop, trying to kill me. I went prone by the little water tower, and fortunately, he didn't manage to kill me.

Yeah, we need splash damage on those BB miniguns, at least untill they get replaced by the M240 or whatever was the MG name....
The minigun is the last weapon, you fear being killed by in the game, Im afraid of hand guns more than miniguns...

Got killed by a helicopter like that once...there I am, driving through the desert in my technical, when I see a Merlin coming. So I hit the brakes, jump out, aim my RPG and fire...ah ****, a miss! Quick, I'll reload and shoot it when it tries to get away! Hey, wait...why is it diving? Oh no...oh no! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa splat

...does this count as martyrdom?

How much splash damage is there in real life ?
I thought those were 7.62 weapons with regular bullets so where would the splash damage come from ?

Well, they dont do any damn damage, at least give them splash damage to simulate high rate of fire, since they are 4x faster IRL than in-game...

Yes, it is going to happen because in reality Blackhawks with Miniguns are only operated by the 160th SOR, a special forces helicopter unit. For the regular units they're outfitted with M240s most of the time (they can also mount M2/M3 .50s as well, can they not :confused :) .

Anyway, it wont happen for a long time, so don't worry your pretty little head. If we're really lucky we'll see the BH go away all together for the USMC (it will be retained for the US Army when they are put in, I would imagine) and be replaced by the Huey.

Did I mention that PR needs Hueys?

*loads the M60, lights up a fat one and turns up the CCR*

Any chance on bringing miniguns to the same splash damage they did in vanilla 1.12 ? Those blackhawks were awesome in the right hands ...

A friend of mine who also plays PR turns anything that moves into a projectile. Even airplanes at times when he knows he isn't going to hit a mountain or a building. I've been a victim of his helo antics.

I remember pumping fire into the South Bridge bunker on that jungle map with the bridge (3.30 am, screw names) from the hill next to it, when all of a sudden a merlin wiped out our squad, without even hitting the ground...crazyness. We all respawned as light AT and made it pay. Ah, the memories...

How are Hueys better than BHs? Was that true or just a sarcastic comment?

They're not, just more realistic, as the Marine Corps use them instead of the Blackhawk/Seahawk mix thing we have now.

The marines us super stallions. As inferior as they are to the blackhawk, that would be a more realistic choice.

Well, the Huey for medium lift, it's the same distinction between the Chinook and the Stallion.
