Is it possible to modify Mouse look to work in jets like it does in Boats? or would that be hard coded? & if it wasn't hard coded if you modified the game to work that way would you get in trouble with PB?

Hey, I was thinking about something... since players are "vehicles" too, would it be possible to have it when you are outside of vehicles ?

I use mouse look in jets and helo, especially jets.
You have to be quick about it and it hasn't really helped me that much since I am not that good at air 2 air combat but I have used it to track jets that went past me.

Yeah exactly, that's why I was kinda hoping that it would be possible for an individual to do it, or, maybe for them to possibly download and add the amended required file to make it possible? Jets would be soooooooooo awesome if a person could do this! but, not at the expense of those confined to using a mouse to control the craft. <--- ***honest!!***

Edit : the way mouse look is for helos at the minute is perfect, but, I'd rather keep maneuverability and loose weapons to be able to look around the cockpit of the jets, and then press a button to be able to engage the weapons systems & lose mouse look until im finished firing and release the "engage" weapons button

Maybe the unused camera view buttons could be mapped to look right and left in jets, like the littlebird has side views mapped to mousebuttons.

Track-ir support would be cool too =)

That's the reason i'm trying to find out if this is possible so my Track IR works! At the minute you lose control of the jet and fly in a straight line when TrackIR is engaged, by swapping it as it is now, you would keep maneuverability and be able to use Track IR (mouse emulation) except when firing weapons..

edit: WTF!! how the hell is it that track IR is working in that video with 6 dof? what the hell am I doing wrong!!

The plot thickens!!

after seeing that video I went to the NP message board, cause I recognised the 6 DOF in that video instantly, thats no friggin mouse emulation at work. Looks like dice has passed on support (no surprise there then!) However it seems NP have got track IR working for BF2 themselves! OMG!!!

and I quote

.... "So would we, NY_ATM. But the developers have basically officially passed as this point.

So we are looking into how we can best share an unofficial mod that someone made which enables TrackIR usage in single player (even though we know everyone would want it for multiplayer). We've been on the fence for a while now as to whether this would even be worth it (as we would hope to avoid being a tease). "

I've helpfully pointed them in the direction of this mod, Track IR support in Reality would be the Dogs dangly bits indeed!! Fingers and toes crossed

More in this in the next month or so, hopefully.

1. You can't bind keys to look around unless you mess with joystick-button-to-mouse emulation
2. You completely lose control of the aircraft when you do that, which makes it completely useless in the middle of a fight, when turning and trying to keep the target in your view.
