*disclaimer* this is just a thread to motivate people to use voip more.
Some players use VOIP and some players don't. But the bottem line is Voip is better for communication,emursion and realism.
With that being said why doesnt everybody buy a mic or atleast use her more often? It's great fun playing in a squad with teamwork and communication and it's even fun to get to know the guys behind you're team a little.
So brush the dust of youre microfone and start talkin.

You can't make a post and expect people to use their mic more. If you're gonna buy a mic, get a good one, cause I dont want to listne to someones voice crackling all day.

Only problem with VOIP is that my sound card sucks. VOIP would work like 30 secs into the round then die out. Which forces me to use Vent or Teamspeak.

I don't use it because I don't feel comfortable using one.

I would also appreciate it if you didn't make it sound like anybody who doesn't use a mic is a retard.

I positively encourage voice comms be it VOIP or TS (I don't use ventrillo or other variations, soz).

Typing is so time consuming and a PITA.

Typing neither expresses the frustration or anger needed to encourage some people.

I have had a fair few incidences of people in my squad without voip getting me killed because they are unable to spot enemies about to attack us. When this happens over and over and over you stop liking the player in your squad and move on (or if it is your squad, boot them out!)

Voip is an integrated part of the game, it is not something added later on. The whole aim of the inbuilt voip was to help with gaming and if people aren't prepared to use it then they will lose as the rest of the community slowly realises what people are like gaming and put the non-voip users to the bottom of the barrel.

You'd have to be highly skilled ingame AND fast on the keyboard to stay in a voip orientated squad!

I spent a month without a mic (the one on my previous one broke down, and the one I wanted to replace it with wasn't in stock, etc.), so I just had to type really fast...but damn, it's nice being able to chat again!
You don't have to go out and fork out 70 euro for an über-headset, but 10 $ will get you a decent one, and it really does change the game a lot, for the better.

mine cost me £2.50, ive had it for 8 months, it still works.
