medic ideas ...

ok - Further to the great "medic Prod Weapon Thread " ...

i heard on the Grapvine that in future, PR will be Getting Medic Huts that the commander will be able to Build ...

i just thought - as with the "Prod Weapon" ( great idea btw lol ) - would it be possible for Medics to Carry, or Drag other Soldiers to a safe location before Reviving ? i know in the sandbox mod you can manipulate things, what about dead soldiers ?

Say ... if you got shot and your critically wounded timer started ticking away, and luckily a medic nearby was able to Pick you up or drag you away from the action, your critically wounded timer would Re-set, and the medic would have one minute to get you back to the Medic hut to save you. maybe you could make Defibs only available in or around these huts or near a Medic Van or Medi Helicopters ( which i also heard you were working on ? )

what i think would be funny too, is if there where "Stretcher" vehicles, 2 man stretchers for you to grab soldiers, and rush them back to the medi-hut. hehehe it'd be like benny hill :)

Would give a whole new meaning to being a medic ! and the teamwork aspects would be brilliant :D

but if its too much to ask or i'm being a complete tard, then i'll just stfu.

Cheers

Nick ;)

Dragging is not really possible with the BF2 engine.

:( What about the Stretcher idea ? if a Critically wounded soldier could press " E " To get on, and then the Medics take them back to a Defib point ?

:!:

Sorry i should have done a search really ! i just think it'd be cool to see medics working hard saving people together - There should be a Medic only Squad with access to medic vehicles.

That would take half your squad to deal with one wounded guy, more if you provide an escort when it would probably be quicker to just respawn by the time you heal and get back from this point.

All these medic ideas are good, but often are impractical in teams with a max of 32 players.

yup... as a fellow medic in game and IRL as well i know it takes a lot of resources to treat wounded soldiers-- i think that IAJTHOMAS is right that it would be impractical with as "few" players that it is at servers now.. maaaaybe if the 128 player servers got up it would be more practical..

anyways the medic player model has the defib on his person so you shouldnt need to get back to an aid station or ambulance to defib... the battery on the defib now currently holds just six stuns so if on an aid station it would have infinite stuns.. would be ok.. i guess--

but it takes time and takes half the squad in real life thats why in the army its best to injure som1 than kill some1

Killed = 1 man to take body to cover and wait for firfight to be over.

Wounded = 2 man strecher take to medivac(heli, tank) take to medic tent be treated. and in the gaming world gettin back out there

I highly doubt that when someone is shot that front line infantry are tasked with getting an ambulance, stretchering someone to it, taking them to base, healing them, RTUing them and picking up their rifles and returning to the firefight.

I'm not argueing that medivacs wouldn't be an improvement to realism, but I don't think that it could be impliment in an adequate, realistic and practical manner. If you want an ambulance, sit in a hummer/chopper as a medic.

Question most answered wrong by soldiers in my EFR (eagle first responder aka mini-medic) class, except by those in my brigade:

Whats the first thing you do when a buddy gets wounded?

Most common answer given: Drag him to safety/treat him

Wrong

Correct Answer:

Achieve fire superiority and eliminate the threat.

It sucks but going over to your buddy to help when the enemy is still there is useless.
