Do you still have to lead your shots?

I've never figured this out for BF2, but do you still have to lead your shots like you did in 1942?

Maybe I never noticed because the BF2 hit detection is kinda strange sometimes...

Lead your shots?
You mean like aiming infront of a running person?

depends the range of how far the target is away, but generally if the target is a long way away, then yes. thou the hit box lag in BF2 makes the hit box acturly behind where you see the player....

Yes I find that you need to lead your shots at long range. Have you tried the beat yet? With the new view distance long range shots definetly require you lead as well bullet drop can come into play. They have slowed down the sprint speed as well which tightens up the hitboxes with the player model a bit more. In a CQC situation I wouldn't lead the guy due to the hit boxes not being perfect even with the changes.

How much you need to lead I can't really say, just have to get a feel for it

have had some sweet moments with bullet travel.
had just cleaned out the river fort from a whole brit squad and was occupying the tower with my support gun as I see a lonesome guy traversing the river in the very south. kept the finger on the trigger but missed. he crawls behind a rockformation and sticks his head out, firing a single bullet who happend to be red tracered. I see the line swooshing through the air and amazingly I manage to duck in the last milisecond, the bullet drilling itself into the tower wall behind me.
I stayed down thinking, alright buddy, 1-0 for you youre free to pass xD

Think of shooting like eating a burger.
If you are moving a burger (target) towards your mouth it will pay you to open your mouth (anticipate its speed and distance to where its going) and create an opening for where the burger will end up (shot/bite).
If you miss you will have to try again.

In short yes lead your shots.

Wow...I'd sig that but better and I don't want a "too long sig" warning again.

Just using this "Think of shooting like eating a burger." in the sig would be great ^^
