I'd really like to see something like this, like they have in 2142 or somewhat America's Army. Im not sure it is supported in BF2, but it would be cool to swap out scopes, barrels, kit items, etc.
is it possible?

and extra... can the US (and maybe MEC) have a scoped rifleman kit? i know you could give USMC an M-16A4 with a Trijicon Acog scope or something, and something similar with the G3 for MEC? There have been lots of times when its PLA vs. USMC and everyone on USMC is SF because they want a scope, whereas everyone on PLA can be whatever they want, DM, rifleman, officer, etc because they get a scope and a cooler looking gun.

M16A4 with ACOG/M203/Ironsights is coming in 0.7.
G3 already has a scope in 0.6.
Kit customisation like in 2142 is not possible.
Using the weapon unlock system would be possible.

m16 is the finest weapon in game, im loving it !

Only Rifleman and Officer kits have scoped weapons.

And grenadiers.

But only the PLA one at the moment. All should have for v0.7.

And the best rifle in PR is the QBZ-95.

I mean just for rifleman, couse for example when i play mec I feel unconfortable with the scoped g3 in cqb, but the kit is important to build stuff, so I thought that could be cool to use the unlock system to provide two weapon to the same kit.
Other example could be the british engeneer, I really miss the shotgun and could be cool to choose between benelli (not sure is a benelli) and the ironsight l95 (I'm not trained so I call weapons with fictional names, hope u understand me).

It is not planned to use the unlock system, but it would be possible to use it.
