Before you go and say "go but a legal copy n00b" I would want to say I have one.

Anyway, The majority of PR servers say "cd key invalid" when I try to join them. But if I play original battle field two or a select few project reality servers it wont complain anywhere. I have found a prior thread on this that didn't have any functional answers, the only answer was
"go to the support folder and re-enter your cd-key" which didn't work.

I had this problem once, I reinstalled BF2 and it worked again.

Ok i had this problem also but i fixed it. I tryed to log on with my administrator account insted of the account i installed bf2 on and it did this but once i went back to my other windows account it worked fine that might be your problem if you changed users
