Gameplay Issues: Hills of Hamyong - USMC vs. PLA 0.609

Just a thread to really try to improve what was an excellent map with the British, but still good with USMC vs. PLA.

- PLA machineguns, field of fire.
The upper (greencamo covered) MG positions only have a very restricted field of fire. They don't mutually cover each others sectors sufficiently in my opinion. They cover the horizontal axis to a significant degree but the vertical elevation is rather limited in usefulness.

This image represents the furthest depression of the machine gun (i.e. it can't fire any further "down" than this point, barely covering the steps of the USMC deployment zone.

This may be for play balance, and perhaps it is meant to be "zeroed" to this range. But i find it rather too easy to "bottom out" the aiming at this point rather than having to walk the rounds onto that position.

If the depression of emplaced weapons in general could be increased, we might see an increase in their use, and an improvment to the degree of skill required to use them effectively.

0.50 cal. emplacements/tripod mounted MG's anyone?

Anyone with any other gameplay issues/discussion on this new map, and changes due to the USMC adoption.

The other big one i can see is the lack of a Scope on the rifleman weapon vs. the Chinese rifles, which compared to the SUSAT scoped SA80 this will be more difficult for the USMC than it always was for the British.

all armies rifleman will be getting scope eventually...

the machineguns unfortunately are restricted by bf2 engine capabilities so we done the best we can on that map... however i think they are still prety useful in pinning the british and causing some badass hell

Well, 4x ironsights, anyway.

But they're still not as nice as a SUSAT.
