Hey man. Did you try updating all of your drivers?

Sounds to me like a paging file issue. Does your HD activity light go crazy while you're 'frozen'?

So do you suggest higher PF?

1 Gb of RAM is not enough to run PR smoothly (in my experience, my 2 Gb are borderline. Will upgrade to 3 Gb as soon as possible).

Make sure you run your system for minimal memory usage. Close all other programs. Unload all unnecessary junk (quicktime, realplayer, motherboard monitors, anti-viruses, software firewalls, virtual drives). Close IM tools. Install minimal drivers, without heavy interfaces. In short, make sure your system and associated services use as less memory as possible.

well it used to run fine on my old pc, which again, only has 1gb ram, Should i up the page file size?

Yes that might help.

PR .6 has much larger maps that tend to use even more memory than .5 (something I noticed very quickly during the public beta testing phase). The destroyable buildings may also increase memory requirements.

upped the page file, and i just get ctd's before i even manage to load a map now. Ill try updatin PB, but after that,im out of ideas

Uninstalling and reinstalling could be something to try.

But maybe you are having other issues not memory related. I'd run a SMART diagnostic on the hard drive (google for available freeware tools). Maybe a memory test.

As mentionned previously, updating video/sound drivers is a good idea as well.
