everytime I create a local game, the game just crashes to the desktop

Ah - me too.

I wanted to explore maps so I tried - but got the CTD too. I successfully played several rounds of different maps online - but the Create Local fails.

This is an install over existing previous version - install went fine. Game runs quite well, otherwise.

Single Player is not supported in .6 I think.

If you want to try a map offline, create a LAN server. No bots, of course.

thats exactly what i did, and it just crashed to the desktop

Right - Create Server - that's local.

Although Single Player does the same - we're talking about LAN - Create Server.

mmm ok. It crashes to desktop with every maps you try to start?
Maybe it's something with the settings you are putting in.

Other than that, i have no clue. Maybe someone else could help.

ive done this many times in 0.5

This is NOT an incremental patch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... !

You have to uninstall .6 BETA, before installing .6 FINAL, thats why local games are messed up probably...

I never installed the .6 beta

does it have anything to do with the fact that I had .5?

Get rid of all older versions of PR and betas... So yes, it probably does have something to do with 0.5.
Edit: I can create local servers just fine.

Yes, you were supposed to uninstall .5 before installing .6.

A couple of more details will help.. e.g. map name?

Have you tried passwording the LAN server? From my quick glance at server settings in this version, it seems like there are different server configs for passworded and unpassworded servers, due to all that licensing ****.

Well, the cause was still, that they just installed 0.6 over 0.5 :d uh:

In your C:\what ever\EA games\Battlefield2 Folder there should be a uninstall000 try that out if you have both the 0.5 and 0.6 versions there might also be the uninstall001, just start one and it should say "Do you really want to uninstall PRM 0.5"

Someone should really create a proper name for the uninstalls...

I recommend that you unistall both 0.5 and 0.6 and then reinstall 0.6 to avoid any problems (if the 0.6 is installed over the 0.5 the 0.5 uninstall might delete 0.6 files)
