Destructable runways

On Kashan, the runways are destructable, which led me to believe that, well, we're allowed to destroy them. Others have said, however, that nothing in or near the hostile base is allowed to be attacked. So, are they destructable, or not?

they are destructible yes, but at the mo IMO they are to easy to destroy, epically from the air.

Yep. You can only approach from the air, however. For everything else...death is now.

Rhino, does that mean that we are allowed to bomb them or not?

Should be no problem bombing the runway. It's the planes and people you shouldn't rape.

we wouldn't make them distructible if we didn't want ppl to blow them up and stop air assets on the other team taking off. thou there are a buch of issues to iron out (these where not really ment for v0.6, more v0.7) there is nothing stopping you from bombing them, apart from maybe the odd grumpy admin on the other team who wants to fly his jet.

I hope you can see how rules of not killing people there can be bent... even in real life rules are bend all the time. What happens if people bomb the runway while there are 2 squads on it camping the A10 spawn?
That situation reminds me of the apache video on internet shooting at armed personnel on the ground. Instead of shooting directly at a wounded soldier with the 30mm gun, he shot the car in front of him, obviously shooting through it and hitting the guy behind.

Well, call the A10 campers 'collateral damage'
Becuase what the hell are 2 squads doing camping for one jet?

do destructable runways apply to carriers? i imagine that would be a bit harder to engineer

As long as the intention was the runway.

Well, I haven't done it yet, but I'd probably come in nearly vertical, drop my bombs on the part away from the A10 (so that the runway being destroyed actually does something), then pull away again, so there's no collateral damage.

I think the issue is that the A-10 and Su-25 guns easily decimate the runway. The MIG-29 cannon can, but since you only got 150 rounds it's not efficient to do.

Also, runway is very easy to repair. No one wants to do it though.

True. If you're lucky, it'll keep them out off the air for a bit.

Pilots don't get wrenches/Shovels, so for a pilot trying to find a engie, it would take him time.
They also would have a hard time landing to rearm.
