HARDCODE !!! ALot of the great and fantastic work done on PR by the DEV team with the limited HARCODING.

With the release of CALL OF DUTY 4 MODERN WARFARE I wanted to know would the DEV TEAM consider MODDING COD 4 MW, which would be more to work with. Make it even look more like PR even.

My question is, if its all about HARDCODE, would there be more options with the code from COD4 MW than BB2???????????????

Thanks guys keep up the good work... Im building a new machine just for PR im addicted you buggers :)

Considering that COD2 was basically un-moddable, I wouldn't expect much from COD4.

Also, did you notice that COD4 has decided to remove vehicles from it's MP?

1. typing in caps lock only makes it look you are shouting in a angry voice.

2. this is the wrong place for this topic, genral disscuion would be better

3. we are going to be sticking with the bf2 engine for some time yet, we are keeping an eye out for other engines that may come up, but none sofar including this one dont meet our needs.

4, moved to gen des.

COD4, thats the one where you can lean, fastrope and shoot threw walls, right? ;) I'd say, just wait a few months and a reality mod will appear for that game as well. Don't worry.

No vehicles means no combined arms means no fun.

People keep suggesting this COD4 because in two videos they have seen fast ropes, high tech weapons and high tech weapons. Did I mention fast ropes?

I do, but appearantly Civvies are not main priority for the insurgents to defend, but high priority to kill by the brits. They once even (on Helmand) used a car as a ram to destroy the building I was standing on. I was running like a maniac around that now much smaller stripe of roof, while 5 hungry sharks stood below just waiting for me to fall down. The insurgents just stood there an laughed.

Then again, fastroping does not get me off. The "lean" function does. ;)

No, not that Insurgency ;)

Give it a try if you have HL² or CS:S, it's pretty good.

Chrome plated Desert Eagle .50 = nuff said. Any game that has one of these available is where PR should go. Fast rope in with your DE FTW!

We had this weapon in Infiltration. It was both loved and hated because no military worth calling itself a military uses it....not even Israel. And since it is used so much in Hollywood, it was widely known among the Infiltration community as "Tha Pimp Stick." It was very in accurate, but powerful.

QFT.
I can't imagine modern warfare realistic game without vehicles .
CoD4 - fail.

Not every combat encounter uses vehicles. I personally prefer infantry combat myself, which PR is able to provide just fine in most cases.

Perhaps its the fact that for some reason, a majority of individuals that jump behind the wheel of a vehicle suddenly become the biggest morons on the battlefield and in most cases I'd just rather not deal with it. (However there are also some very competant crewmen out there as well) I'd rather hike 700km in many cases.

I'm also a dedicated grunt on the battlefields of both PR , vanilla BF2 & PoE2 ( my only vehicle 'weakness' are chopers - just like them as they are uber ground attack units ) . Though I still prefer to have enemy vehicle(s) threat ( maybe not that much , like in PoE2 or Kashan Desert\Zatar Wetlands in PR ) . Conventional armies use vehicles all the time . If you see no vehicles at the monent in the game ( HL:2 Insurgency , CoD4 ) , they were 'used' to deploy infantry before .
Making the game about modern warfare without vehicles in year 2007 seems to be retarded for me , sorry .

The Call of Duty series tends to have very weak modding support, which was weak at best with CoD1, and got worse with CoD2. Maps are quite small. Nowhere near the size of the current PR sizes, plus only infantry. All coming from a strong Call of Duty community member who played it competitively since CoD1 was released and watched the community be raped to death by Infinity Ward. Ironic in a sense that you can now get COD2 via STEAM, the system developed by VALVe, argueably the most mod-friendly developers to date with released titles.

My view, anyway.
