It will never happen.
But I agree that communication is important but the military talk is too much for most players.
We need air traffic controllers.
Easy way,...make a pass over the runway to see if it's clear.

If I am in an air squad, instead of simply saying "Dunehunter, on final approach", I will first check with my squad. "Dunehunter, am I cleared for landing? Ammo low", or something like that.

I guess a guide for jets is a useful tool. But tbh they are due to be altered significantly in the next update so I will refrain from passing judgment on this section. Good guide anyways.

Re communication, get your own squad. If there is a commander who knows what he's doing, having air assets in the same squad makes his job that much easier. There's nothing worse than attempting to call in air support as a commander, only to find out that the aircraft are in a squad with a SL that doesn't respond to you at all.
Also, wouldn't "winchester aim-120" be more appropriate than "bingo?" It still sounds odd, though.
Also, it's "you're," goddammit. Why does everyone on this forum have to use "your" for everything. YOUR DOING IT RONG!

Way to spell "wrong", "rong" while trying to correct someones spelling, you can't just act like a grammar Nazi, you have to be one.
Also, this is all great and good for landing, but what about actual dogfighting?

If you look closely, you'll see that I used "YOUR" incorrectly as well....
Frankly, I find the misuse of "your" to be annoying. It makes me back up and reread things.

I stayed up in the air for over an hour untill I crashed into a Frogfoot, who decided, hes a fighter jet and started locking onto me with his 2 short range missiles, when I evaded and turned around, crashing into him...
Its also good, if you have a SL, whos an engineer, has a support car at the airstrip, ready for you when you land, keeps on line with commander requesting support, and scares off lazy ***** air raping the base by manning the AA missiles.
Not flying around in his A10 and thinking, the whole squad should be focused on supporting his 1337 ***...

You better support the A10, though. Otherwise, when grunts on the ground call in air support it's gonna be like "YAY! The A10 is here! That tank is--- *whooshBOOM* Nevermind that, let's hide behind this hill and wait until the next one comes"

Posted this before and it seems to work.
4 man locked squad.
SL - Engineer with support truck, stays at base, communicates with commander, keeps an eye on the base and landing strip, while the other 3 fly around in the CAS and fighters.
One jet scouts, other protects the A10.
One interesting tactic, I discovered:
-when one jet gets in a dogfight, and evades, the other should fly straight to his position and intercept the enemy jet. If youre fast enough, the enemy jet will turn around before he manages to fire off a missile. Also, when releasing flares, GTFO and stay on the other side of the map or fly over the friendly base, untill you reload them - takes 12 seconds, but that can mean life or death.
Also practise landing a lot, I sometimes manage to do it in the first run

*sigh, I promised myself I wouldn't do this, but heres a one of my favorite tricks I do with a select group of pilots. I used to do this with the F-35, and seeing the ahem... direction... the F-16 is going down, has transitioned easily into PR.
Its called the thatch weave. Used in WWII by the less maveuverable allied pilots in the Pacific theater. Requires Voip, 2 jets (F-16's) and an overly agressive MiG pilot.
Its pretty self explanatory. Since missiles don't work in PR, you don't really need to worry about that. Just use guns, fairly simple.
Works best with the F-16 Vs MiGs as the F-16 is slower so you will have good seperation from the MiG when the turn is made. This is a good way to keep dogfights from turning into turkey fights (you can take the PR out of vanilla...)

This is it, DOGFIGHT, we are talking loops, broken loops, immelmans, rolls, evrything and more.
Go close range missiles, just to scare him, becuse they are useless! Hes afraid, you get the advantage..
If you feel your gonna loose him, bug out.. Your primary objective is to stay alive.
He sees you, you dont see him..
Your dead.
Feel free to pm me changes or any other things, also feel free to post various stuff here thats related.
Um I completely disagree with that last point on dogfighting. If you turn on your missiles you won't scare him, (why the psychoanalysis?). If anything I get quite a bit more relaxed when a MiG locks onto me. It means he's new or retarded. Besides, If you scare him, he will evade, making him more or less invincible. Either way that final point is moot. If you make a guide, get multiple opinions.
